Disney's Attention to Detail

I just realized something last night as I was looking through our families past character autograph books. I knew Disney characters had to go through training that included signatures but I always just thought that meant come up with a signature that looks like the part. But in looking at the autographs that spanned Disney World, Disney Land, and Disney Cruise over a 4 year period, I realized that there is a specific signature to each character. Belle has a specific flourish under her name, Cinderella's C' scrolls under the rest of her name, Snow White's has a large S and large W, etc. The realization that Disney wants their character's autographs to look the same for that character no matter where they are found was actually really impressive to me. Wow-talk about continuity and consistency to detail. Anyway, I had never noticed that before and was really impressed with the continuity and consistency for something that could be considered a small detail!

Same signatures as they are the same characters!

I mean yes for example Mickey gets around a bit, four WDW parks autographs, parades, and Chef Mickeys, then DL, DLP, four cruise ships,but his signature will always be his!

The employees of Disney take a course before they can work for Disney in any aspect. They need to learn/know basics like the name of the seven dwarfs. If they are hired to play the role of a certain charactor such as Mickey then they will also learn how to 'forge' his signature. They can not play the role until they have this mastered.
Its actually quite brilliant of Disney to do it that way. Sometimes its hard to fool the younger ones, lol.

We have had two " incidents" where things unraveled a bit.

Epcot, at a Mickey signing, in the pavilion, my daughter then a young girl, said to me as she left him, part of the side of Mickey was undone and she saw his shorts!

On a DCL ship, a princess who will remain nameless, was asking questions about where we were from home town etc. Clearly she knew it " very very well" and let's say slipped a bit at that time, so we knew she came from our local area. She quickly, pulled it back and composed herself, but it's one of those moments the character dropped out.

On this topic, does anyone know if they hold true to signing hand? I know one princess is left handed and I would think that would make hiring even harder.

Yes, Disney's attention to detail is truly remarkable!

And I can vouch for the fact that they hold the amazing consistency across the pond too.

I've been comparing Walt Disney World autographs with the ones I've got at Disneyland Resort Paris.

But not only handwriting is spot on, but behavior, "quirks" in the personality of the character and even after a recent release one character had "developed" in person according to the storyline from the movie!

And this is just a fraction of all the work that goes into shaping the guest experience. But as far as I have noticed so far, it's been astonishing true to every single thing.
