Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

Can u fill the refillable mugs with coffee or milk? Last time I know coffee was available, but we've never stayed at AoA before.

Coffee is part of the refillable mug program. Milk will have to be purchased.

I saw hot chocolate dispensers at the refill stations too. I didn't ask, but based on where it was, I'm pretty sure you could get that too.

Yes, you can get hot chocolate too. :goodvibes
I always fill 3/4 of my mug with coffee and 1/4 with hot chocolate. :)

Yes, hot chocolate is included too. OP only asked about milk and coffee so I didn't mention it. :thumbsup2

The suites were included in the Spring RO offer...LM rooms never are included...

Not true.

We went to Disney in Sept 2012 when they first opened the LM rooms. We stayed there 8 days and at that time Free Dining was included with Art of Animation. I think because they were new. Since then, they have been excluded. We went for 8 nights, 9 days and paid about $2400. We upgraded our FD to the Plus dining so we just paid the different of QS dining to Plus Was a steal of a deal!

Today I booked a Little Mermaid Room at this resort for 5 nights starting on August the 18th. I am super excited to be returning to Disney World, after a long absence of not staying onsite. My last onsite stay was in neighboring Pop Century, which I really liked. I like the fact that you can walk from one resort to the other. From AOA to Pop.

Does anyone know what type of coffee maker the rooms have? What would I need to bring from home to make additional coffee? Thanks

You'll need special filters for the coffee makers. I can't remember the brand name, but they're two-cup coffee makers.

I bought these filters on Amazon, and they worked just great with our own coffee:

But if you're okay with drinking the coffee that is provided @ AoA, you can ask for extra "pods" from mousekeeping.

If anybody is headed down soon would mind taking some pictures of what is available in the gift shop as far as FOOD, I'd really, really, really, really appreciate it!

I'm looking for an idea of what I need to try to pack/have shipped down vs. what I can get when we arrive. We will do QS dining this time but we will try to eat some breakfasts in the room and pack some lunches because honestly, I can only handle so much Disney food before my digestive system gets angry.

I don't have pictures, but was at AoA two weeks ago. I was surprised at how little food was available in the gift shop. They had a few items like donuts, but surprisingly little to choose from compared to my :worship:last trip when we stayed at POR (which had a pretty big selection of food, including bread, peanut butter, cookies, etc.).

The food court at AoA did have some items like single-serve cereals and fruit that you could buy.

I'm sorry I don't remember more. We ordered from Garden Grocer this trip, and I wasn't paying that much attention to the food choices since we already had ours. I highly recommend Garden Grocer; not only can you buy things like breakfast items and cases of bottled water/pop, you can also buy wine and beer!

My apologies if this question has already been answered. Our last two trips we've stayed at POR in the Royal rooms. The bus stop was literally two seconds away from our room and the main building maybe 2 mins. This year my daughter has requested to stay in an Ariel room at AoA. I've read that these buildings are a long walk to the bus stop. We tend to spend all day in the parks (leaving resort at 6:30am and arriving home after midnight!!) and I'm not looking forward to an extra long walk from the bus. Has anyone stayed at both and can give me a comparison just so we know what to expect? Thanks

Most people report it's about a 7-8 minute walk to the LM rooms.

I've stayed in a LM room and a Royal room and The closest LM room is probably a bit further out then the furthest Royal room.

Also, if you were two seconds from the bus stop, then you must have been near the East Depot. That would make you about 4 or 5 minutes away from the main building. I think that timing perceptions are different at POR because of the resort layout. It feels closer then it actually is.
