Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

We are staying in LM rooms 1/27-1/31! We have a group of 14 total. This is our DDs first trip - ages 4 and 2. Our youngest is obsessed with Ariel, so I know she will love the rooms!

I know some people think it will be a long walk, but I think we'll be fine with it. Besides, we will pass so many interesting things and when we have the stroller, we will just push DD to make it faster. I am lucky, DH told me to do whatever I want, and that is exactly what I am doing (ADRs, resort, days we go to which parks). I think it's because he hates Disney. He said it is not the happiest place on earth.

Ha! My DH actually loves the parks, but thinks the hotels are ridiculously priced. I just want to stay on site this one time and see what it's like. Maybe I'll agree with him afterwards...or maybe it will just create an "onsite only" monster:lmao:

We are booked in a LM room Feb.22-Mar.1 for the Princess Half Marathon. When I first called they weren't able to add the rooms for the end of our trip (25-1), but I was able to add them on the next morning no problem. I am so excited to try out the resort! We have never stayed at a value before so this will be new for all of us!

:wave2:Yay! Joining in on this thread. We are booked for Lion King suite on Jan. 2 - Jan. 7. I have changed this like a million times already. DH has a month of training out of state to get ready for this next deployment. They gave us a different training date a while back but changed it about 2 weeks ago. Ah, gotta love the Army! :lmao: LK was not my first pick but after I changed things so many times, all the Nemo suites are gone. Im going to keep trying though! Holding out hope to be able to get it. :goodvibes

First trip for my kids and DH (was never into Disney as a kid, really hoping he falls in love and has a blast!) and only my 2nd ever trip. I am so excited! Honestly, I think Im more excited for my kids. Something like this was never even remotely a possibility for me as a kid. I can't wait to see the smiles on my babies' faces. :thumbsup2

Awwww, you all will have a blast! I went once as a child the year MK opened, then did not get back until mid 80s, after EPCOT was a few years old. Went with hubby while 6 months pregnant with our first, then we began our love affair with WDW. Our children first visited when they were 33 months and 11 months. I've lost track of our visits since and they are 15&17 now. Enjoy planning the trip and the best advice I cn give you is take time to enjoy the little things like the looks on your hubby and kids' faces when they first see Main Street USA. And take lots of pictures!

This may sound stupid, but I'm always afraid to use the safes in the room. :confused3 How do you know if someone hasn't made copies of the keys and can then have access to your things? Has anyone ever heard of anything ever being stolen? Knowing someone who worked in a casino, who said that it isn't difficult for dishonest employees to make copies, I've always been leery about using them, but I'd like to be able to take advantage of them while I'm there. I'm just a little uneasy about doing so. Anybody's else's thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most safes in the hotels we've stayed in (including Disney) don't use keys. They use codes which you pick and program into the safe. Same (usually 4 digit) code opens and closes the safe. So no one should know it but you. The only thing we've ever really worried about was the kids punching in the wrong or a new code and locking us out of the safe:lmao:

We have never had a problem on any of our trips. I have never heard of anyone having anything stolen from the safe, only items that were left out in the room.

Very few of the Disney resorts use the digital safes. CR is the only one we have had one at. We've stayed at 16 different Disney Resorts. I think maybe Poly and GF may have them, but not sure.

We travel quite a bit and have only stayed in one other hotel that had the digital locking safes, all the others either didn't have one, or they locked by key.

As of last December, the safe in our room at the Pop Century had a key.

My guess is that if someone wanted to steal your stuff bad enough to make a copy of the room key and break into your room, they'd take the stuff laying around outside the safe even quicker than the stuff in the safe. So better to use the keyed safe over no safe.

They should have them at every resort in my opinion! ;) Thanks!

Yes! Those other treats sound really delicious too! Is the chicken sandwich just like a chicken breast?

The chicken sandwich was not a breast but more like minced chicken meat with seasonings in patty form.....ummm hard to explain? :confused3 I'll post a pic here in a sec!!

We've always stayed at the Poly so that's where I got that from lol and we tend to vacation in the northeast and we've almost always had hotels with digital locks (great wolf lodge and Busch Garden come to mind)

What is the thing covered in sprinkles? And what is the "chocolate" drink in the blue bottle?

I think the sprinkle thing is a chocolate covered banana maybe?

Its was a chocolate covered marshmallow on a Mickey straw. And the drink was chocolate flavored coconut water called Zico! Yum!!
