I have to admit a lot of the menu doesn't appeal to me too, but we don't eat a lot at the resort either, so we'll make do.

Same here - doubt we will eat much at the resort - lots of treats we want to sample other places and I am packing snacks and breakfast foods so we can eat in our suite.

:confused3Does anybody know for sure that AOA will have their own buses. Somebody is posting on the Pop thread that they heard they were sharing with Pop. Please tell me this isn't the case!!!!

Edited: Somebody on the Pop thread called and was told NO they aren't sharing buses. Now they're debating because you can't really trust anything the CMs say. Does anybody know if they are sharing buses or if they will have their own buses?

Correct me if I am wrong, (I know you will), but I am seeing items on the food boards marked as DP snacks that are priced at $4.95. ie. smoothies. That is a buck increase over previous years. Is the price limit being increased throughout the World or just at AoA?

I wondered that too

It would be nice if snack credits became anything under $5, but I think it's due to the rising cost of those items OOP, which is why they're now allowed as snacks. I know at the very least I'll be trying that cheesy pesto bread for a snack one day.

I don't think AoA will share buses with Pop, at least not at peak times. They are not sister resorts. But then again, some of the deluxe resorts share buses so who knows? It may come down to what the All Stars do, shared when it's not busy, but it's own buses at park opening and closing. That arrangement has never bothered me.

Y'all seem to be the know all about this new resort. :) Looking at a January 2013 trip - and seems AoA is less expensive than PC for a no suite room (I just put in Dec dates to compare since Jan isn't up yet). Is this right? We loved PC last time we went but thought AoA would be a nice change. My 12 yr old son will probably want Cars or Nemo - Little Mermaid isn't an option. LOL
Thanks for any advice

LM are the only single rooms, Lion King, Nemo and Cars are all suites. And LM is a little bit more than Pop.

I think the standards at both resorts are comparible in price. Pop is more fore a preferred pool view room, but then again you are much closer to the main building too. LM rooms are pretty far out. I think Pop standard base room might be slightly less. I always get the preferred pool view at Pop, so it was less money for me to stay in LM, BUT I am way our further than I'm used to. But I really want to try it and so does my DD. Good time to do it when DH isn't coming.

The rooms at AoA are $5 more a night then the standard rooms at Pop. At least they are during the fall value season. I think the preferred rooms at Pop are $5 more then rooms at AoA.

I agree; that 'Cheesy Pesto Bread' looks pretty darn good to me, too! I've seen some snacks that are over $4.00 that are allowed now. Maybe when they changed the QSDP from 2 snack credits a day down to one, they upped the value from $4.00 to $5.00?
I'm sure that the menu will be more extensive. They're highlighting the new different things, but can you imagine any Disney resort food court not having your typical burger, pizza, ice cream options?
I think it's pretty definite that AoA is to have it's own buses. A CM that works in the bus dept. told a Dis member that 30 brand new buses were bought just for the AoA resort. I think they'll be separate except for times when they and Pop may need to cover for each other at busy times (which is a good thing).

Hello all! Just changed our trip from POFQ yest to LM. SO SO excited. I have been obsessing all day over the pictures. We are going to be there Sept. 29 to October 7. Can't wait!

That's wonderful. We're all very excited and we're going to be in LM, also.

Yeah, I think people are being too quick to judge what is presumably only a portion of the final LOF menu. Of course they'll have more common dishes like pasta and burgers! I doubt anyone's kid will have to resort to eating cauliflower or anything.:rotfl: But that said, it's also good when kids try new things. I understand that palates develop and kids probably won't eat stuff with a lot of weird spices, but I mean... kids' menus make me feel sad, and I say that as someone who was picky as a kid and rarely eats salads. But I still feel like I tried more things as a kid than what I see on most kids' menus, and often I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm just glad that Disney is offering healthy options, especially a lot that look quite vegetarian- and vegan-friendly. ::yes:: I've never been to a WDW value resort and I honestly wasn't sure I'd find such great options at a place like this.

When we were at Pop last week, my husband had talked to the Manager of the Pop resort & he said Pop & AOA are going to be sister resorts & the bridge will be open to cross it.

Interesting...generally "sister resorts" share pools, and they have made it VERY apparent that the Big Blue is strictly for AoA guests. I think the bridge will stay, but I do not see them sharing anything other than views of the same lake.

By the way am I the only one that thinks the AOA food menu looks a bit blah/yucky ?

It's not just you but we're a burgers, fries, pasta and pizza kind of family. We're not into the non-traditional stuff. My hubby is gonna miss his fett alfredo from POP. Guess that's another thing we'll have to cross the bridge for.

That is a big hit with our family too! We love the fettuccine alfredo from POP! I am hoping they will have some traditional things here like the fast-food options. We typically only eat one meal at the food court, but from what it looks like the picky eaters in my family will not be eating there! ::yes::

Congrats!! We switched from POFQ too----our dates are almost the same----Sept 29 to October 6. :rotfl2:
