You can get quotes and book packages/rooms for POR as a party of 5 on Disney's website. You just have to be 499 away from your check out date.

Okay, not trying to argue. Just wanted to post what the CM told me. May have worked out for the best because now we're staying at AoA.

At this point, it seems that Standard Rooms cannot be booked for Nov-Dec 2012. My booking window opens in a few days and I was hoping to be able to get a room at the Little Mermaid section. Now, that hope is fading... Maybe some time after the 1st few sections have opened, they will release the standard rooms for booking. My last hope!

Not trying to argue either...just pointing out that the info is readily available and rooms can still be booked. Only time will tell what happens with the trundles but the speculation has worked in our favor because DH doesn't want to risk being moved to a resort that we know nothing about so he upgraded us to the Beach Club last night!! :woohoo:

Lucky you!! :yay: Congratulations!! :cool1:

It makes me very happy that they are FINALLY making a themed hotel that appeals to families of more than 4. We are a family of 5 and the ASMusic does not appeal to us. If it wasn't for AoA, we would have no other choice but to stay there or go to Port Orleans. I am extremely thrilled that Disney is starting to recognize that not everyone has just 2 kids.

I am happy they are making a themed resort I just wish they had regular rooms in all the sections.

No matter what we will probably stay in the Little Mermaid section but the Cars rooms would have been cool. And you are correct, they need to have more rooms geared toward larger families. I have stayed at Port Orleans as well, even with 2 children, once they get older you need a little "extra" space.

Staying anywhere at Disney you can't go wrong. It's the most magical place on earth. :)

Looking at the photos of the construction and at the artwork pics it looks like these rooms will have a window that isn't near the door.

Can't wait to see an official room layout for these suites!

awesome! I can't wait to stay in AOA for next year maybe cars theme! and Can't wait to see an official room layout for these suites!

Are they using the buildings that have been up for years or did they build all new ones? I remember having a top floor room across the lake at POP a few years ago, but can't remember what / how many buildings there were over there.

Yes they are using the buildings that have been sitting idle for 8 years.

Back from a week at Pop, and got a few pics of AOA. There was alot of activity going on across the lake. (Really wanted to get more pictures, but never got around to it.)

Looks like they are just getting started on the end building near the 50's section:

I am glad that so many are excited about this new resort. It does look beautifully themed. However, I personally am so disappointed that Disney considers this their solution to making more rooms available for families of 5+. I think asking families to pay between 350-400 per night for a value resort is crazy. I understand that you get more room but you get none of the amenities that a deluxe offers such as pool slides and table service dining and yet you are paying the same price. I would like a more reasonably priced option for my family of 5. If they take POR away as an option that will be a very sad day. I find Disney's options for families like us very frustrating. AoA will not be an option for us unfortunately as I could never justify spending that kind of money just to have more room and yet still be at a value resort.

I too wish they had more of the deluxe amenities for the price they are charging.

From the You Tube video by Jeff Lange it looks like the corridors are inside? Is this true?

They are for the new building, but I am not sure about the ones that are currently there. Were they not built like the other POP buildings?

Amen
The least they could do for larger families is guarantee connecting rooms
It is sad when you can stay ia deluxe for less then a family suite (if you take time to get discount codes)

I hope I can stay there next year! Can't wait  Lion King is my favorite movie so I would really enjoy to stay there! :simba:
