Another good point. Renting a car is another extra expense. If you don't rent a car, you have to pay for a shuttle back and forth to the airport. Plus, most offsite places have scheduled transportation. That just doesn't work for me! I'm a TA and use these points to convince people to stay onsite!

i agree! thats what i love about disney vacations. when i get off of the plane i dont have to worry about anything. i dont want to drive, worry about my luggage, meals etc.. to me its worth the extra $$$ to not worry about anything!!!

AGREE :goodvibes That's why we call it vacation!

I'm pretty excited about this too. We are a family of 6, so a family suite is very appealing. Plus, the fact that its a value resort we will be able to consider trips to WDW more often :)

From what I've been reading on this thread and from what I've seen on the WDW website, there hasn't been a lot of "value" being quoted about this resort.

I think it depends on your demographic. We have 2 adults and 4 kids in our party, so for us it's not bad value. If you have a smaller family who can fit into one room at POP, then that makes more sense to me. Our trip is going to be a "familymoon" so i like the fact that there is a seperate bedroom for the grownups and the kids will love having their own space too. When i go to disney, I try to find ways (We'll be getting 2 AP's for the grown ups who are planning a Honeymoon NOT to a value resort a few weeks earlier ;) )to make things more economical but at the end of the day, it's Disney. It's not cheap, but it's perfect. :cloud9:

It depends on how you define value. Compared to the Family Suites at All Star Music, a cabin at FW or a standard room at POR for 5 it's no bargain. You may find it has value but it ain't cheap.

Does anyone know if booking for standard rooms has started yet...? I've plugged in my planned dates for Sept 2012 and a few dummy dates through December and I don't see them anywhere... I guess it could have already entirely filled up but that doesn't seem likely so far out... does it? :confused3 I also see no mention of Little Mermaid ones but there is one that just says Family Suite...?

i don't feel as though the "value" suites are much of a value.
i think they are great idea and nice to have but for a family of 6 you are either paying way to much (imo) for a value resort (where you lose out on so many nice disney things) or you have to go head over heals to deluxe where a typical family can't afford it.

the last time we went we booked 3 moderate rooms for the cost of ASM family suite (12 people 3 baths vs 6 and 2 baths)
of course as luck would have it the rooms were not able to be next to each other but for the savings it was easier to swallow

i have said for a long time that disney should charge a fee for guaranteed "connecting" rooms and and people would be all over it

I'm looking to stay here with my group of 5 in august 2012. Does anyone know if it will qualify for the military discount, or is it too new?

A big downfall of rooms on property for us is the fee per night for extra people.. Plus it's difficult to put 5 in a room comfortably. I'm hoping this would work out for us, I love the idea of staying at a new, very Disney hotel!!!

Were you able to plug in dates for Dec 2012? I have tried to do quotes for clietns and it won't let me book anything in Dec.

I think it is 399 days that you can book out from. I can find pricing for the beginning of November, but not the middle. Will be a little longer before December is available.

499 is the max amount of days I believe. You should be able to book December in a couple months depending on their dates.

I was thinking the same thing.

When I chatted with a CM on the chat thingy on the reservation page, on the disney site, he said the regular rooms won't be opening until later in 2012.

Thanks I did not know that. It's for the first week of Dec, so it should be coming up soon.

Is it 499 or 399?

I knew it was more than a year but less than two. Sorry about getting the first digit wrong.

I booked the AoA on July 15th for 8/12-8/22/12 and since there are 7 of us plus a baby i had to book 2 rooms tenatively. I was told by the cm that they are going to have 8 and 12 person suites. Has anyone else heard that?

We really want to be at OKW but they aren't opening their villa's for reservations yet and this is 2 of my daughters birthday presents so we booked knowing we could become a resort hopper or stick here with a 8 person suite.

Haven't heard that. Maybe they meant 2 connecting "regular" rooms for parties of 8 and 2 connecting suites for parties of 12.:confused3

Thats why I was asking. This cm specifically said suites for 8 and 12 people in addition to the 6 person suites. She told me to call back in September to see if those rooms are open yet for reservations. Then again we all know about the knowledge of some cm's.

Anyone else heard this?
