Yes, I do have questions! Does the gift shop have the Yin Yang Tiger symbol Animal Kingdom beach towel? Does it have Castle lager or Corona or only domestic beer? How's the weather?

Hi,

I will take a look in the gift shop later today to check on the towel. I know that Mara sells Corona but I will also take a look for the Castle Lager for you. The weather? Is is currently 34 degrees with a projected high of 53 today.

I SOOOOO wish I was there with you, instead of here with a foot of snow. Can you find out how to make a Mt. Killimarita (amounts as well as ingredients) and a Hakuna Matata?

Tiffany! Say hello to the baby ankole, and ankole Jr for me, please! If you are at the "end" of Zebra Trail, you are in my favorite location. Even though I hate walking, that is one walk I will keep on doing. I love having the savannah to "myself". Enjoy your trip!

Hi,

We are not at the very end of Zebra but we are the last right on the trail in room 3556 overlooking the Uzima. We have a great view different from what we were used to on the Arusha but still great.

Can anyone confirm that the Sunrise Safari days will be Thursday and Sunday after April 1st? I am having trouble getting through to concierge.

Also, are all 1 bedroom suites at the end of the savannahs or are they spread out through out the resort.

Yes the SS is on the new days you listed. I talked to the Concierge last week who took my info to book us for the SS on a Thursday in May.
Does any one have the times they put out goodies for the CL at the AKL ?

From the info sent to me in Oct.....

6:30am Coffee and Juice
7am - 10:30am fruit, juice, pastries and cereals
11:30am - 3pm African snacks and beverages
3pm-4:30pm Tea, Scones, Cookies and biscuits (afternoon tea)
5pm-7pm Wines, hors d'oeuvres and African appetizers
8pm-10pm desserts and cordials


I'm a bit concerned because our Safari got bumped up to 6:30am because of the new EMH on Saturday. We are to meet in the lounge at 6:15am. Ouch! My girls are going to hate me! It doesn't look like there will be any food at that time either.

When we did our Sunrise Safari, we had a beautifully prepared breakfast buffet, and did not miss having the concierge offerings beforehand... just a thought

I believe you should be fine on Tuesday. The Morning EMH for AK was switched from Mon & Fri., to Sat. (only) on Jan. 2nd. For those scheduled for the Sat. SS on Jan-March the Safari will have to start before the EMH opening! That means 6:30! I know the animal caretakers were concerned about the length of time the amimals would be out on Sat (SS then Morning EMH) and Tues. (SS and Evening EMH).

We decided to grin and bear it! We stayed with the concierge and SS.

Oh! DH and I will be fine. I'm just a little concerned about my girls (3 & 8), they are so used to eating when they get up. Waiting until the buffet, after the safari, might be too long for them. I don't want any grumpy kids on that safari van!!!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but we checked the gift shop and the AK park for the beach towel and unfortunetly the Yin Yang symbol is no where to be found. We checked the gift shop and Mara and there is Corona in the gift shop but we could not locate any Castle Lager. We just booked our October trip to AKL w/ our three kiddies...DD 11, DS8 and DS3!!

We have never even seen the resort but have heard such great things. We stayed at WL on our last visit (it was also our first WDW family trip) and adored it but due to the little guy turning three...we had to search for another home! Thanks for all your great advice.

Our question...are the Deluxe Savannah Rooms in one location? I asked when I made the ressie and the CM told me they are scattered through the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors...this was not the opinion I got from these boards. Just wondering what savannah and/or trail to request...
Thanks...and can't wait to watch the travel channel tomorrow...11:30 Eastern...AKL!!!!

Hi Morticia,

We just came back from Dinner at Jiko and they have Castle Larger there. There is a lounge area where you could just order the drink if you did not want to have a full meal at Jiko. Even though I would highly recommend dinner.

Hi Robin,

We are at the AKL right now and all of the deluxe rooms are located on the fifth floor. The Ostrich Trail, Kudu Trail and Zebra Trail all have deluxe savanna view rooms. The Zebra Trail is the most convienent to the pool area and the food court. I would suggest requesting the Zebra Trail and leave it at that. This is our fifth stay at the AKL and truely love this place. I firmly believe that no matter which trail you end up on you will have a truely magicly stay.
