Hello! Me, DH and our two boys (11 and 8) will be staying in a 1BR Savanna view at AKV Kidani Oct 25-30. We were originally booked at WL but moved due to construction, so now we'll have one day (Oct 24th) at WL to enjoy pool and boat ride to Fort Wilderness and then all the rest of our trip at AKV. It's our first time at AKV, previous trips were WL and SSR. It was a bit stressful finding out about construction after I thought we were set with our favorite resort, but in the end I'm excited we get to try someplace new and maybe end up with a new favorite resort!

Brandi - We finally firmed up our plans. We are OK for October at BLT; that hasn't changed. But the November stay is actually now POFQ and the dates are October 30-November 4. Thanks!

We were originally booked 11/30 - 12/7 at POFQ but when I called yesterday, AKL was only 400 or so bucks more for the trip so we figured why not? I haven't been deluxe since I was a kid at the Contemporary in 1973 (?) so this should be fun. All this is to introduce myself to the group and we'll see you soon!

1) We are renting a Standard View Studio. I requested "near lobby" during online check in. Do all standard view studios at Jambo house have a poolview or should I request poolview as well?

2) My husband enjoys a rye and coke in the evening to unwind. We are not renting a car. Can anyone tell me if there is somewhere at AKL to buy a bottle of liquor and if so, what the cost might be? It might be worth the cost of a cab to go to an actual liquor store instead?

When we were there in March, my friend bought a bottle of liquor in the Jambo House gift shop. But I can't remember exactly what she bought or how much it was.

I see they have a sauna, not sure about a steam room. The spa and fitness center are available to anyone staying at AKL, Kidani or Jambo.

I finally will get to stay at Kidani. I have previously always stayed at Jambo House. It is only for one night at the end of our trip, but I take it. One night is better than no night.

If at Kidani ( for your 3 days ) These are all DVC rooms. You'd be switching buildings then as well
If at Jambo House ( for your 3 days ) then the 1st 4 floors are AKL, the 5th is all DVC, & the 6th CL. So the answer to your question is no ,unfortunately.. But at least with the latter, you're only switching floors, not buildings.

I believe they do...We had a Value studio ( less points ) & also got a pool view as well....I believe some standards are also reclassified from savannah view, so it's possible you get a partial animal view as well.

Here's a link that'll show you the 5th floor and where all the rooms are..We were in rm # 5014..Ideal spot IMHO.
