Are the mini fridges in the DVC standard villas big enough for a gallon of milk?

ah, now it makes more sense to me (I'm easily confused :) ) how would you compare your Kidani villa assuming it was a studio w/ the Jambo value studio?

It wasn't very clear! Sorry. The original post I was responding to didn't seem to be interested in the one bedroom villas so I didn't elaborate :headache: My fault!

I actually had a one bedroom in Kidani versus the value studio in Jambo. The one bedroom in Kidani was sort of mindblowingly awesome but was handily twice the size of our value studio in Jambo so there is no comparison. It was a little tight for four adults but we just had a two night long weekend and it ended up being perfect since it had two baths (a friend let us stay on her points, and beggars cannot be choosers!). I would not hesitate to recommend either option though.

I forgot to mention in my love of the value studio over at Jambo that even though you just have a kitchenette we had a full size coffee pot and to be frank that is a small amenity that goes a LONG way toward my happiness! I hate those pod coffee makers in the standard hotel room. That was my favorite surprise in the value studio. My favorite surprise in our 1 br at Kidani was the very long patio overlooking the savanna (I'd requested any partial savanna view since we booked standard - we had a sort of off center Pembe savanna view with the back side of the service areas behind the pool bar). There is nothing like a cup of coffee (from your full size coffee pot!) watching the baby Okapi munch on his breakfast.

Not real sure why you would get a pin code for a value studio villa at AKL. I'm not sure those have ever been available for cash rentals, as they stay booked solid, generally at the 11 month mark, year round for DVC members.

Standard view rooms are larger than value view rooms, btw.

Actually I was able to book 3 nights in a Jambo value studio with an AP discount for October. I made this reservation in mid July of this year. I saw the availability online and actually spent a day deciding whether to go for it. When it was still available the next day, I decided to book it. Since then I've read how hard the value studios are to book and now I'm especially glad I decided to book it. :)

Hello! I'm looking into renting points for a Savannah view room this coming January. Can anyone that has been during that time of year let me know if it would be worth it? I know it gets pretty chilly and I'm worried that there won't be much animal activity.
TIA!

We were there mid january this year and even though it was cool (some days down right cold) the animals were out and about. They were out a little later in the day than I expected, but it was still good activity. The pool is heated as well, so swimming even though it was mid sixties some days was still nice!

Has anyone seen the recreation guide/flyer for August 2016 yet? We arrive on the 15th and I was hoping to see if before then. Thanks!

What is your favorite meal/snack to get at an AKL restaurant? We are planning on Boma for dinner, but would appreciate breakfast, quick service, and snack suggestions.

I'm probably the only one, but i wasn't taken by the zebra domes at all. Have only eaten at Boma for Dinner, and enjoyed that.

Headed to AKL for 14 nights in 2017 :-)

We used buses only for our whole trip and only had 2 occassions where our wait was more than 15 minutes. The times board was working all the time except for our first day. There was always space on the buses going to the parks and even returning after close of parks the service was fine with buses arriving pretty quickly to clear any queues. I was impressed with the quick journey to AK, Epcot and HS were pretty close as well. MK and Disney Springs took longer but were still only about 20 minutes or so at the most.

All the CMs we encountered were lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I am here now and I totally agree. AKL is the best bussing experience I have had. Everything you said is true.
Ditto on the CMs. They go crazy out of there way to help here. Again, haven't seen it this good at the World.
Hands down the best resort. Jambo house since so many more things here. I was even just sitting in the lobby the other day when all of a sudden Tigger, Baloo, Pluto, Donald, a Dwarf and a chipmunk? were here. But I think they may go around to a few resorts when rainy?

I hate zebra domes! I was beginning to think I was the only one! I guess it's because I don't drink and can't stand the taste of liquor but they just taste like alcohol to me. Gross!

I love the chicken pita and falafel pita with couscous at Mara. My favorite dessert is the orange (ameretto?) cheesecake at Boma and Mara. The soups are all excellent. It's never fit into our schedule, but you can sample bread, dessert, and soup on the free tour.
