We are booked for AKL Nov 26th to Dec 10th. Its our 2nd stay there and a surprise for the kids. So excited to go again x

We are there the exact same dates! We are flying from Manchester UK, where are you coming from?

So my company downsized and I was laid off the other week and we had to downgrade our room from a Savanna View to a Standard View. What are the odds that we will still be able to see animals from our room? Is there any good request to make when we do our early check in?

We stayed standard last time too, but we ended up with a savanna view, I believe due to an injury I had at the time and the need to be closer to the lobby.

A lot of the standard view rooms at Jambo House have at least a partial view of one of the savannas.

We are staying at Jambo House in a 2-bedroom villa from Dec. 3-10. My husband and I live about 70 minutes away from WDW. My daughter and her family are coming down from Pennsylvania. It will be their first WDW vacation with their children.

We have stayed at AKL at least 6 times and always with a standard view. We have had a savanna view every single time. Lots of the standard rooms have decent views. If you do online check in you can choose Kudu Trail, so there still is a chance you'll get to see animals from your room.

Super excited to have extended our stay at akl to 16 nights 26th Oct till 11th Nov. We are staying in a standard view room, but heard there are lots of places my three girls can see the animals, is that right?
Also does anyone know how many standard view rooms have the queen and bunk bed configuration, as that's what we've requested but know it's not guaranteed so just wondering what our chances are . Can't wait 125 days till we will be travelling to our happiest place on earth.

Hey! Thats so cool! Im so excited to have a date buddy we are coming from Edinburgh via London. Im travelling with DH, DD who will be 9 and DS who will be almost 4.
Do you stay near Manchester? We used to stay in the North West but moved home for me when DD was a year old.

We live in Leeds & will be staying over in Manchester the night before our flight.

I'm traveling with DH, DD1 who will have just turned 4 & DD2 who will be 2 next month. My dad & step mum will also be joining us for 6 nights from the 27th so that will be really fun too!!

Let me see if I can figure out what room we were in. We had connecting rooms last June and one of them had bunk beds. I'll see if I can pull up the map on touring plans and trace our room down. Great view of the animals.

where in Jambo house can we take a nap, other than by the pool?? we will be driving down and it's our first time staying at AKL. Need to find a place for my DH to nap in case the room is not ready. TIA

There are rocking chairs by an indoor fire pit in the back corner that kind of overlooks Victoria falls lounge. There are plenty of couches and chairs if he doesn't mind the noise of the lobby.

There are also rocking chair areas that overlook the savanna, although I can't remember exactly where they are. If you wander around the main floor of the hotel you will probably find them. I also seem to remember a few lounge-type areas slightly off the lobby.

Personally, I don't think those rocking chairs were very comfortable.

We just returned home last night from a 10 night stay in a standard room. We had connecting rooms with my parents and we had the bunk bed room. (FYI: If you request connecting rooms then one room will always be a bunk bed room. We weren't happy with the bunk beds and requested a room change. That was when the cast member told me that all connecting rooms will have one room with bunk beds.)

Anyways, we had room 3253 which is on Kudu Trail. We had a partial savanna view and could see zebras, antelope and giraffes every evening. (They didn't seem to come around during the day.) We thought that we seemed very close to the animals which was great for pictures. Another bonus was that this room was close to the lobby!

I have a pool view room booked and when I go to do online checkin, my request options include kudu trail view. Am I correct that the kudu trail view would not be pool view?!? I'm confused....
Of the other options, I'm thinking I'd like upper floor, but not sure which of near lobby or near elevator would be better choices???

Not sure. Look on Touring Plans room views. I know if I paid for that upgrade I would want a good pool view and not a barely there one.
