Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

This might be dumb, but I can't find the answer, when does Disney tell you the section an room you'll be staying in? Will I get an email? I have 3 days till we're there :)

Thank u so much this was very helpful :)

FANTASTIC !!!!!

last time i do a package as i kissed off 2 cs and 2 snacks.
did some ts and no way could i use a cs/snack those days.......

still, it was cheaper to go with the package than room only for my dates.

planning on returning to Sports again next year.

even with rain on 2.5 days, i had so much fun.

service at Sports was even better this trip than the one i had in January there.

how is it going with your knee?
hope you are improving daily

My left knee is doing the great, the one I had surgery on back in July. Now going to the Dr. for the right knee as I am pretty sure it is the same issue: something torn in there. Glad to hear you had a great trip.

I am wondering where Slightly Goofy (Linda) is? Every once in awhile she pops up.

At the Sports now, taking a little break whle the guys golf. Having a great stay--everything is wonderful, except that our request for connecting rooms was not met. Not really a huge deal this trip, But it serves as a reminder that connecting rooms are not a given thing.

the other knee is acting up?
oh no !

for some reason i was thinking you were still talking about the knee from the surgery.

i keep looking for Slightly Goofy.
Maybe she will pop in soon.
we are long over due for a linda sighting.

Hey guys. I'm sure this is already on here but can anyone tell me if/how the AC unit in the rooms can be overridden? 68 is a bit warm for sleeping. Thanks! :D

No, my right knee is acting up now. I go to the doctor on the 12th of November. I can't catch a break:lmao:

Meg_z10....The way I remember the AC units is that the lowest they go is about 65 degrees and you can't turn it any lower. I agree with you because I like my room cold (brrrrrrrrrrr).

Right now they have them set to go no lower than 68. My nephew, who likes his rooms this side of arctic cold, was not happy.

Hi all! We're all set for our first stay at Sports! May 3-9 2015. Even more excited after reading through this thread. Looking forward to reading more trip reports.

We stayed at the All Star Sports last week - 10/22 - 10/24 - it was a pleasant stay. Our room was comfortable and clean. We were in the basketball section, which was quiet but not a far walk to the main building.

We were impressed with the bus service - we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a bus any day. And its nice to be the first stop!

The food court was not impressive - the workers were very pleasant but there was long lines (due to all star music refurb) and i wish there was more options of food. Had some drinks at the pool bar and the bartenders were always very nice and good options there.

The gentleman that checked us in should not be at the front desk - he literally had no personality and seemed to hate his job. Not the best way to be greeted to Disney. But all the other front desk people were nice!

One day we stayed at the pool and the constant noise from the pool parties got annoying. We just wanted to relax so we headed to the baseball section pool, which was much more quiet and nice.

I was surprised at some of the people staying there - i know its a value resort but it's still Disney property. So many people would push in food lines, leave all their food all over the tables and not clean up after themselves, let their kids run rampant all over the place, and change their older children at the pool in front of everyone. Wish some people just realized that this is everyone's vacation, not just their own.

Unfortunately some people in life are just plain stupid. You will get that behavior no matter where you stay, whether it be at a value, moderate, or even a deluxe resort.
