I'll be at Sports during the period of that closure and not concerned about it.


i figure the resort won't be packed due to that......


there will be a bus set up to shuttle the guests to the other 2 sister resorts for their food court.



it will work fine for me.

Shoot! We're going during the refurb too. Oh well, my boys really want to stay at there, so we're make the best of it. it'll be a good excuse to see the other All-Stars.

Any idea what they will be doing about the refillable mug station during the refurbishment period???

My brother in law and his gang are booked to stay at All-Star Sports for their very first ever Disney vacation this Oct. I am wondering if I should suggest them changing to another All-Star??????

my first thought was that it would not be affected during the remodeling of the food stations.


my second thought was to call the hotel direct and ask them........

I wondered about the refill sodas too. I would call and find out if I were going too. I would think they would have some set up even if it was that you go to the arcade and give them your mug and they fill it for you like at Boardwalk but who knows.

I think it will be fine especially if you don't plan to spend much time at the resort.

I will be staying there for the first time in late July. Wonder how much ramping down and preparation for the renovation of the food court will occur up to August 5. How's the food court there anyway? Is it as crazy as POP?

I have a feeling they will do the renovation like most and just shut it down on August 5th with not much if any change before hand. The food court at ASsp is nowhere near as maddening as POP's foodcourt in my experience. There is a chance you will hit it with the crowds as well as a group which can make it busy but it is a smaller resort with less rooms so less people waiting for food and busses.

I agree I would stay away during the fefurb and I also agree it really needs an overhall. I do wonder if they will refurb Music and then Movies after that? If so it will be over a year before the chaos in the food courts are over.

No Problem. Welcome to the All Star Sport nuts thread. Oddly, I never had interest in staying at ASsp or nor do I even care about sports but after a friend raved about it I tried it out and fell in love.

I have stayed at Coronado before a couple of years ago. Very beautiful resort but you are right: way too big. This time I would pay for a preferred room and be right up front. I have never stayed at POFQ and it is on my list.

I found POFQ to very quaint.... Not all spread out but well themed. I liked it alot........

I booked ASsports online and when DD27 booked her room she was told about the Food Court refurb. She booked ASMu instead and begged me to change too. I did and now I'm kind of regretting it. We aren't booked for FD as we are AP holders. She loves the spaghetti (though I think it's the memory of when she was a kid) she ate it 3 times a day. But I feel guilty about someone with FD would benefit from the room at ASMu plus I don't really want to deal with an over crowded resort. I personally think they should be offering the same room prices at ASMo as the other 2. I think I'll check closer to the trip but if it looks like Music is filling up we are going back to Sports. I love Football bldg 10.

ASMu is a very nice resort as well but it most likely will be more busy with the reno going on especially if they are warning people to switch. What they should do is offer ASsp at a discount. ASMo is higher because that is the favorite of the All-Stars for the majority of people and would most likely be busier than ASMu.
