Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Ah, I was able to see three locations as well by following the "Designated Smoking Areas" link from Disney's official page for AS Sports. The resort map I had come across earlier was out of date.

As a side note, I never saw much smoking going on whenever I was walking around the resort. But that probably depends on time of day, possibly time of year, etc.

I’m about to stay at all star sports for the first time with my two sons (12 and 14). This is our first time traveling without my husband other than to my hometown. (He’s staying home and working, nothing tragic or dramatic.) I’m excited, but anxious about being the only adult. Thankfully the boys are old enough to deal with public restrooms and similar tasks.

My real question here is about buses. Our last stay was at CSR and we experienced horrible bus wait times nearly every time we went anywhere. I’m assuming sports is a little better? And has the areas to line up for each destination?

Disney’s All-Star Sports has a dedicated queue for each of the following destinations:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • Epcot
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • Disney Springs
  • Typhoon Lagoon
  • Blizzard Beach
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports

That’s amazing. I didn’t realize there were direct busses to the waterparks. Is this because of the waterpark promo? Or something specific to all-star sports?

The All-Stars and CSR have Direct Buses to Blizzard Beach-all other Resorts take Animal Kingdom buses and transfer to BB buses at Animal Kingdom.

For Typhoon Lagoon all Resorts take buses to Disney Springs and transfer to TL buses there.

Disney no longer provides buses to ESPN WWoS from any Resorts.

Can anyone tell me how early I will be able to get coffee with my refillable mug in the mornings? I know the food court opens at 6:30, but I have seen reports that coffee is available earlier (as well as the soda machines).

We want to rope drop, but with early entry and having to get to the buses early, 6:30 is going to be cutting it close (and impossible for Animal Kingdom).

A great perk with the All-Star Resorts is their Beverage Islands are accessible 24/7.

If you want fresh coffee, the CMs usually start around 5:30 and usually make some fresh coffee then.

These CMs are usually College Program CMs so we always try to give them a kind word for getting up so early to get everything ready for the day!

Have a sporty time at my "Home Resort"!

Also "usually " they will open up one register for Grab n Go purchases at around 6:15.

Help me decide! We are coming one night for MNSSHP. Through different sales, I booked both preferred and standard rooms. The standard room is $16 cheaper. We will be driving, so one trip to bring luggage from car and one trip to bus stop for the party. Would we better off with a standard room since those are closer to parking lots and away from pool noise? I can put in a request for a building closer to the front. We have had good luck with requests but know they aren’t guaranteed.

I would go with the standard room. You will have a longer walk to the bus stop but won't be carrying much of anything, whereas the walk from the car (and back again) will be with bags. I'd rather have a shorter walk when I'm carrying a bunch of stuff. 8-)

jcemom I agree with you. who wants to walk a longer distance with a bunch of stuff.
