Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

We have an April reservation for the 19th (Monday) thru the 23rd (Friday) and I'm wondering about the people who are being offered upgrades. Anyone know if you can call and inquire about an upgrade, or is it totally up to the luck of whether Disney calls you or not? When I booked ASMo, I had no idea any cheer comps would be happening 😕 Not really looking forward to sharing the resort with a large group of teens...

General rule is if YOU call and ask, you'll be charged the difference. If THEY call and offer a change, they cover the difference.

If you want to move BAD,I would call Disney and say something like:

"When I scheduled my Vacay I didn't know Movies would be Hosting Cheer Comps.
I have been reading online reports of some Movies Guests during that timeframe being asked by Disney to move to another Resort with no upgrade fee in order to make room at Movies for the Cheerleaders.
If you are still looking for more Movies Guests to move,I would definitely be interested."

Can't hurt. :)

That's a really good idea. Now, the question is, does access to dole whip at the pool bar trump any annoyance that large groups of teenagers might cause me on my trip 🤔 These are the hard-hitting issues we Disney fans are faced with! 😅

Surprised to see that Movies only has Movies :) 4 nights a week.

It has always been "tradition" for All-Star Movies to show a Movie 7 nights a week because it is,well,All-Star MOVIES!lol:)

The Activities Schedule does look a little more "elaborate" than POP and AoA currently.

GREAT to see Movies back "online"!

Which Tarzan is PG-13?!?

Never had an issue with them. But... I'm not the "Get off my lawn!" type.

They sometimes were loud in the morning - didn't bother me. I'm in a "motel" type accommodations so even though I'm paying far more than a Motel6 I don't expect quiet in the morning.

Sometimes they filled up the common areas - didn't bother me. I got a kick out of watching them practice. And my vacation style doesn't include any lounging in common areas. Especially at Movies.

The food court got crazy when they were there. I just adjusted my schedule and ate later.

We can look at the negative of anything. We see what we want to see. If the kids upset us we see each and every annoying thing they do and make it an issue.
Or we can just enjoy watching these kids have the time of their lives and go on with our vacation.

Are the cheer events even happening in 2021?
I agree I never had an issue with the kids just seem like a bunch of teens having fun reminds me of myself at that age which was many moons ago lol

I will be there this upcoming Monday!! We arrive on March 29 and will fly back home April 3. We're so excited!!!!! Does anybody here go before us and can let us know details (e.g. when do the first buses to the parks leave... stuff like that), or am I the trailblazer?? I will definitely post a trip report. We've never been before, so I can only share my experiences now and won't be able to compare with what it was like pre-COVID, though.

Awesome-looking forward to your impressions of All-Star Movies and WDW in general!

Even with WDW currently being Covid World,I think you will still be BLOWN AWAY!

WDW is HUGE and AMAZING!

(Try to ride Disney Skyliner-it is so UNIQUE-you can ride it from Hollywood Studios to Epcot or vice-versa.The most FUN ride on Skyliner is to Pop Century/Art of Animation-it goes over a Lake!(You do not have to be staying at POP or AoA to ride it over there.)

I arrive Saturday for a short 3 day stay before we switch to the Poly.

Squeeeeee!!! How exciting!!!!!! I hope you will be having an amazing time. :flower1: :cheer2::flower1:
Love your handle, btw... Did your parks touring style inspire that name?
:)
Haha no. It actually came about as a joke with some friends I had back in 2008ish when we founded a children's literacy charity. We all had "ninja" inspired internet handles. It just stuck for me and I've been using it since.

We arrive Sunday. The plan is to be at the bus stop 90 minutes before park opening each day.

Haven't seen anyone talk about getting upgraded today..thinking that ship may have sailed
I know you mean being upgraded from one resort to another but my hubby and I did upgrade our standard room in the Mighty Ducks area to a preferred building in Toy Story. It was only an extra $5/day but worth it to be closer to the front/busses. After a long day of walking in the parks, getting to our room faster was ideal. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there.

You’re going to have an AMAZING TIME! My hubby and I are here on our last park day and we’ve truly enjoyed ourselves. Be prepared for the walking it’s a lot!!! Buses leave pretty early especially for Magic Kingdom. The Disney app tells you when the buses arrive/when you’ll get to the park. There’s also someone outside to direct and help you. The CMs are very nice and helpful. Ask questions and pack your patience. There’sa lot of people but everyone seems to be doing the right thing. Oh and there’s no eating or drinking in lines pass a certain point. Usually once you get closer to the actual ride. There’s tons of signs and announcements reminding you. Have a great time!

on the bright side if im not moved im hoping all the cheerleaders have dedicated buses to ESPN complex and should lessen wait times during the day for other things

Are the standard rooms open? I've tried several dates next November and January, but only preferred rooms are available?

They're open, I had the option to book a standard for my upcoming trip but chose preferred.
50th anniversary is probably why. Lots of people wanting to be there.
