Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

I am so excited for our upcoming stay in June/July. Origanally we had 5 nights booked at Animal Kingdom but plans changed and we wanted to stay longer and not spend as much. So we are doing our first split stay. Staying at ASMO from June 29th-July 3rd (4nights) prefered and AKL July 3rd-5th. By doing this we were able to save $400 and stay a extra night. I am excited as this is our first stay at both. But more so movies because my 1 yr lo loves Mickey and the 12 yr old still loves toystory so I think we will have a blast. We have stayed at Carribean Beach, Pop, and NOFQ. So fun to try something new.

Oooo boy ... having stayed at both, I say YAY for you! They're both AMAZING. The kids will LOVE the animals at AKL. And the pool. Yowza!

Hi all. We're planning to eat breakfast in our room before heading to the parks. We don't want to go down to quick service and so I'm wondering -- is there a shop in ASM that sells food items like granola bars, fresh fruit, bottled water? Also, is there a minifridge in the room? TIA!

The Food Court has a "grab 'n go" section and the Merchandise Shop has a cooler and a few food items.

Also, are there minifridges in the room
?
Yes-all rooms.

Just added 3 nights onto vacation at All Star Movies before moving over to AKL! New resort for us so we are looking forward to staying here:flower1:

I haven't stayed at an All Star in years, is that grab and go hot breakfast sandwich station still available?
I "think" that is "unique" to Movies-I've never seen one of those stations at End Zone or Intermission(unless recently added).:)

Just returned from Mighty Ducks, I could actually see the ASMu food court from our room. So even though we were in Movies, Music was our food and bus and pool/activities location. I had to remind myself to go to the Movies building to catch DME when the trip was over. Really we were in the quietest section of ASMo, with the benefit of a very short walk to ASMu and the Calypso pool. It was not considered preferred, but I would ask to be in that section again in a heartbeat.

Ducks is awesome!:)

It really "feels" like staying at both Movies and Music!:)

For anyone not familiar with Ducks, here is just how close it is to Melody Hall(Both pictures taken from same spot.):

Well, just returned from a week at Movies. I wasn't really expecting much. I've stayed at Music three times now, and wasn't looking forward to another All Stars. But, dd is a CM and got me a great rate at Movies, so off I went. I have to say that I will happily stay there again! I'm not sure what the difference is between Movies and Music but I liked Movies sooooo much more! I was in the Dalmations area (bldg 4) so that was nice. The funny thing is that my room was close to the Jazz bldg in Music. We shared a parking lot with them!
I liked my room, I liked the food court and gift shop. Just very pleasantly surprised!!

Well, just returned from a week at Movies.

Funny, we were probably there at the same time for part of the week, but as I mentioned we were in Mighty Ducks and spent more time at Music because of the shorter distance. Besides the crowded food court full of teenagers, the All Stars seemed pretty nice to me.

I have a couple questions I'm not sure about, first time going!

Today was my 60 day, so after FP selections I did my online check-in. I am in a standard room, but requested 101 Dalmations or Toy Story. Will it be ignored since I got standard? I didn't know the difference when I booked through AAA back in October.

Also, if I need to change my requests, I was thinking of choosing Ducks because of the pool right there. I know that it's closer to Music, are we allowed to go to their pool, food court, gift shop, and bus stop? Or do I have to stay at Movies?

Thank you!

Yes-you can do ANYTHING at Music or Sports.

The 3 All-Stars are considered "Sister Resorts" that make up the All-Star Resort.:)

WELCOME to The DIS and I hope you LOVE the All-Star Resort!!!!:)
