Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

I'm finding this thread very useful as well since we'll be there in about 18 days!

I have requested a room near the pool and I noticed on my reservation they do have that listed. Should I ask for a specific room for a pool view? I would love to have a room right at the pool facing the pool! Which building would that be? Thanks!

I would call up and add another request of "pool view".

Are the beds at movies hard and uncomfortable like the ones I have seen written about at Pop?

Our family stayed at All Star movies and found the beds to be comfortable. They are semi firm, however, it depends on what your family likes as far as mattress firmness goes!

Thanks- semi firm or firm is ok but hard as rocks and causing back pain like I have read about Pop is what I don't want.

POP had much harder beds than ASMo. Although it has been awhile since we were at ASMo, I don't recall them being that bad.

Did you pay for preferred or standard?

There are two pools - the main one at Fantasia and one at Mighty Ducks section. So if you paid for preferred, you would want Fantasia; if you paid for standard, you would want Mighty Ducks.

Havs a great trip!

I have never had a problem with Pop beds ever and I have a really bad back....I found Movies to be the same...both worked well for me.

Are all king rooms handicapped accessable? If so, what is the difference from a regular room? No tub just shower? Any other differences? Would like a king room but don't want to occupy a HA room if needed by handicapped person.

Thanks.

Thank you Dancing Queen for the information. We are looking forward to staying there again. Although I am excited to be staying at AKV for the first time, I am kinda bummed that we will only be here a few hours. I love the giant characters.

We were given a room last year with a king bed even though we did not request it. I didn't realize until we went into the room that it was a handicapped room. There is a shower (no tub) with a seat and grab rails. There is no lip on the shower floor so the entire bathroom floor get soaked when taking a shower. Its no big deal as the drain is in the middle of the bathroom floor and it drains quickly and dries pretty quick also.

Thank you so much! We paid for preferred so I guess I'll request Fantasia! :)

I did online check in the other day for our 9/14-9/19 trip...I had a pin for ASMo and it was for free QSDP and preferred room and when I did the online check in it said "your requests could not be fullfilled"...my only request was for Fantasia, which I thought was a preferred building. I stayed here in 2009. Why would that come up at online check in???

One more question. We are going down friday and my friend who lives down there is going to the grocery store for us to buy some stuff. As soon as we land & check in we are going to the MNSSHP..Is there a way he can drop off the stuff at the front desk? Its perishable items like milk & yogurt. Will they put it in a fridge for me or should I have an extra key there at the front desk with his name on it to go pick it up to put it in our room? Thanks! :goodvibes

Has anybody been to movies during cheerleader weekend last couple of years, we are going Feb 9th thru 16th and wanted to try to see what to expect.

Call reservations- sometimes the website gets overwhelmed. Same thing happened to me when I did on-line check-in for Pop, I called my requests in (gott all of my requests).

have a geeat trip!
