Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

So...anyone know what buildings have a fridge now?? We were looking into flying with a checked cooler, but if we can have a fridge, why go through that??

Just called and Becky at the front desk says that as of March 5 there are mini-fridges in each room on Disney property. Suitable for boxes of leftover food. Woooooo!!!

Well, March 5th is when they started putting them in at Pop Century so Becky misread her script. They're supposed to be in all the Value resort rooms by the end of April.

Booked our stay in the All-Star Movies a couple of weeks ago and have been looking at the pictures and videos. This will be our first stay at Movies though we are "value" people, usually stay at Pop or AS Sports. We booked a standard room and now I'm absolutely certain that we'll be placed in the Love Bug portion of the resort so my daughter and I can whop each other every time we pass Herbie in our never ending "slug bug" game. :rotfl2:

Just switched from ASMo and booked 2 little mermaid rooms at AoA for October. I guess this is good bye!

Does anyone have pics of the fridge yet? I'm mostly curious about where in the room they are putting it.

I started reading through each page, but I didn't get very far...so I apologize if this has been asked and answered many times. I read somewhere else on this board that the Toy Story rooms are in need of a renovation. Are they still worth it? Are there recent pictures anywhere we can look at? Thank you so much!

Sorry if this ? has been already asked (didn't have time to read through the thread) but are the Love Bug buildings a short walk to the food court and bus stop? Since we would have to get two rooms, we really don't want to spend the $ on preferred and would rather stick with standard and are looking into requesting rooms in Love Bug building #7. Thank you.

We were there last Nov (2011) and Toy Story was in the midst of the renovation then, I can't imagine it isn't all done by now. We were in the Buzz building and had a newly done room. Hope this link works that I found for you...also the new fridges are in the cabinet under the TV next to the drawers(not in this video). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUQ-hvc9MS4

ETA: We thought they were worth it, we love ASMo!

Oh, that was perfect. Thank you! So, the rooms don't look as "themed" as other resorts, is that correct? The rest of the resort looks like something my boys would love. :) So glad you enjoyed it!

Well, if memory serves..pretty much what was in the video is what I remember being themed...the bedspreads, wallpaper border, big framed pic, shower curtain & table. The only other resort we have stayed at was the treehouses in Saratoga Springs and those had no theme at all (except for cleverly hidden mickeys) so we think ASMo had alot of Disney to it in comparison. Plus the super huge Buzz, Woody, and Andy's room courtyard helped outside! :)

I just looked at the Art of Animation suites which are very themed, so that is probably what I had in mind! :) The 35 foot tall Woody made my son's jaw drop when I showed him. Definitely a plus!

OK, I know this has been answered before, but I need a quick answer and can't look through all these pages. I wanted to call ASMo today to request a Toy Story room and make sure my request for connecting rooms is still noted. So, do I just call the front desk number and talk to them or do I need to speak with someone else? Thanks so much for the response.

Calling the resort number just takes you to a call center and they can't help you anyways. You need to call whoever you made your reservation through, your TA or disney directly.

The whole resort is been renovated now.

There is an AS Movies picture thread too.

All the Values now have a similar look in their rooms, but each area might have a slightly different picture hanging to capture the area. AoA is really the only true themed resort with rooms over the top.

no, they are pretty far back. I would say at least a 5 minute walk, depending where your room is. If you want to be close to bus stops and food, you need to be preferred. It's not super far, I think the deluxes are much more spread out, but it's not close either.

Please forgive me because I'm sure this has been asked in the 132 pages of this thread. I am OBSESSED with Toy Story and would love to stay in the TS section. Are all the TS rooms preferred or just some of them? Would we have better odds to get a TS room if we paid preferred? Going December 10-17 of this year, if that makes any difference.

They are preferred.
