Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

We will be going to WDW in June. Which preferred building do you think is best. Which is less worn, and which might be quieter? I am looking forward to my grandchildren seeing it for the first time. Am anxiously waiting !!

I'm not an expert -- have only been to ASMo once (just got back Saturday). We did not get our request for Toy Story. We did get our request for a "quiet" 3rd floor room and were placed in Fantasia overlooking a small woodsy area. I think being 3rd floor really helped (no neighbors above, and anyone running to/from the food court wouldn't be up on our walkway.) The only noise we heard was from a next door neighbor's small child on our last night.

DH was upset when we first arrived because there wasn't very close parking to our room for unloading the car, but we all came to appreciate the location. The car became a non-issue since it was used only once during our week's stay.

do you know any website to the All-Star Movies! Than Disneyworld.com! And the address from Miami to All-Star Movies!

Staying at All Star Movies again this June 24-July 1. Requested Toy Story section. Sure hope it is not as bad as everyone's saying it is...:scared:

The resorts don't have their own websites. You can find the resort address on the disneyworld website.

Also, FYI, in case PP wants to enter the address in a GPS, I had trouble at first getting All Star Movies to come up. I was using the mailing address from my voucher package. After looking at a map, I tried entering Bay Lake for the city. Voila! The GPS took us right to the resort. Guess I could have just used the map, but our GPS (we call "her" Gabby) is more fun. :)

We will be there June 19-26! Maybe we will see each other there!:cool1: We have stayed in Toy Story twice, including last June. We weren't planning on going back this soon, but the "Buy 4, get 3 Free" was too good to pass up. We had no problems or complaints about our stay last summer. The rooms are small, but we are hardly in one at all except to sleep so that's not a problem for us. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the food at the food court was very good-good variety. We never had problems getting on a bus leaving or coming back.
We have requested 101 Dalmations because we would like to stay somewhere different. Are you planning on decorating your window?

We have stayed in the Toy Story section twice and our children absolutely love it! The preferred building include sections of Toy Story, Fantasia, and 101 Dalmations. Either one you stay in will be in close proximity to the main pool, food court, and transportation. None of the preferred will be particularly quiet because of close proximity to all the "action", but we never had any problems with noise from above or outside our room. ASMO's has not been refurbished since it opened, but we really didn't see a lot of signs of wear and tear. Hope this helps!
When will you be there in June? We will be June 19-26!:cool1: Hope you have a great time!:yay:

We will be there from June 15-22. We are not sure which building to request, bu have booked 2 preferred rooms. We are thinking of Toy Story because my grandchildren are thrilled with the Movie. It will be their first time at WDW, I can't wait to experience it through them. Anyone have any "not to be missed" for children 2 and 7?

My daughter is two and she really has enjoyed The Playhouse Disney LIVE stage show at Hollywood Studios because she watched Playhouse Disney often at home. Her other favorites are It's A Small World, Dumbo, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan - basically all of Fantasy Land.

Are you planning on decorating your window?

Usually we do. But this year, it depends. I just started my first nursing semester so things are a little hectic. ie - I have no time for anything:rotfl: If I can squeeze some Disney time in between when I am done the semester and before we go, I'm sure I will. Just look for the green mickey's!!:thumbsup2

I asked on the code board but didn't get an answer. If I was emailed a 40% off code for standard value rooms can I still book the discount with the all star family suites? We are a family of 5 so a standard room does us no good. Thank you!

We'll have plenty of lime green mickey's too!:thumbsup2

I t hink you can use it at any resort

We stayed at ASMovies in November and requested connecting rooms in 101 Dals, preferably ground floor. We received everything we asked for. The rooms were clean and nice. No peeling paper, no mold, no dust, no bugs. We were very satisfied. We were on the ground floor close to the pool and didn't hear a peep out of anyone, even though there were people swimming in Fantasia well after midnight. We had towel animals on our beds every night (and sometimes even in the big window looking outside). We had plenty of fresh towels every day. No problems whatsoever. I would stay there again in an instant and would highly recommend it, especially to those who are making the trip to enjoy the parks and only use the resort for resting and sleeping. High-class and filled with amenities, it is not. Comfortable and friendly, it is.

We just got back from ASMO yesterday, our first and last time staying there. The room was kinda dirty, i could here the people next to us all the time, baby crying someone blow drying there hair, we heard it all. We stayed in the toy story building. I paid for preferred and got there and they put us in standard, they were quick to fix it tho so i was happy about that. After Dh waited for a bus back from MK for over an hour we wont be staying there every again.

We got back last on Wednesday. Enjoyed our stay. Had a perferred room in the Dalmation Building (the front one) on the second floor. Overall resort and room were quiet, once in a while we heard a toilet flush upstairs but that was it. Resort was clean, beds felt new. Staff was helpful and friendly. House keeping staged my son's mickey doll and toys into something neat everyday and my son loved this. Food court was pretty good but could get backed during breakfast and later in the evenings. We really liked the pool and my son loved the baby pool. Bus service was awesome, we never waited more than 7-8 min for a bus coming or going from the park. I'd def. stay here again. I do see what some mean about rooms looking a little old but ours was clean and we knew we weren't staying at a new or newly remodeled resort.

We're headed down June 12 to 20, hope to see some of you there, looking at dates, but I too am wondering about when refirb will be? My luck, June 20 they will be starting:lmao:.
Getting excited now, too!

I would think they would wait until a slower time to do a refurb. Summer (June) is a busy time.

Is there anyone out there that got bumped to a preferred room without asking for it?

Just got an email from my TA and she said they haven't heard of any plans to refurb. ASMO's at this time. Her son was just down there last week and she called him to check. He saw none of the typical "signs" of acitivity that you would normally see when they are beginning refurb.
