Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

I never really thought about bringing extra hangers but that proably wouldn't be a bad ideal. :cool1:

So they haven't remodeled the rooms at the Movies yet? Or am I just missing that? That is kind of disappointing, I was thinking of staying at the Movies for a quick trip next July. Do the rooms seem worn? I'm usually not too picky, but we were just at the All-Star Music last month, and the suite was so neat!

I was hoping for a Movies remodel as well. We are staying at the end of September. Last year we were at ASMu and the remodeled rooms are far better that the old ones. Much more room to put suff. There dressers have a lot more room and there are shelves on the side. There are even pegs on the wall to hang towels or whatever. It is easier to keep the room organized so the room actually seems bigger. We even had a curtain seperating the sink area from the rest of the room.

Hello, all! I have just changed my reservation from POFQ to ASMovies so that I could spend the extra money in the parks and am a little worried about the noise. Both DD and I are light sleepers and I've read about it being a bit noisy between children being too loud and the toilets flushing...I was wondering if there's anything in the room you can put on for white noise, such as a ceiling fan, or if the air conditioners make any noise? If I brought a noise machine and turned it up enough, would it drown out people noise if you have noisy neighbors? This is my biggest fear of the trip....neither of us do very well on little sleep or sleep interruptions so I am trying to prepare for this ahead of time. Any tips on what works for you?

I'm really excited about my change in plans. I think my DD will enjoy this resort much more than POFQ! Do they sell yogurt in the food court?

Hi Everyone! I'm staying at Movies right now and can answer some questions. I'm actually sitting at Disney Quest emailing while the DS's and DH play.

You can request more hangars for your room. We asked for more right at the front desk when we were checking in and got some.Towels too!

There is a life vest box right by the pool.

We are in the Fantasia building and it is super quiet. They actually moved us there from Music because we were kept up all night by our neighbors when we first got there.

Rooms could use a touch up, a little worn. There is no privacy curtain which would be nice seeing as I am the only girl and my boys are older now!

There are some pegs on the wall to hang stuff.

We unpacked and brought a pop up hamper to keep the dirties and that is working nicely.

That's it for now!

Does anyone know when the remodel begins at the All Star Movies ? My DH wants to stay there in Sept 09.

I saw on a website somewhere (not sure if it was ASMo) that you could request bedrails. I was wondering if you could do that here, if it has to be done ahead of time, and if you've used them, what they're like??? Also, I will definitely need an iron but will not be able to bring one with me. Can you request an iron if needed?

I requested a third floor room as I figured it might be quieter being on the top floor but I forgot that there are no elevators at the values, right? So I'm wondering if you're by yourself, is there any easy way to lug up your child and your lightweight stroller (I have a Maclaren Volo) after a long day at the parks? Would it be better to get a ground floor? Do you hear a lot of footsteps/noise from the rooms above you? Any advantages/disadvantages to staying in one over the other?

I have read that you should request bedrails ahead oftimeto be sure you get them.

woohoo to elevators! Y'all just made my night! Thanks for the good news and I will also be sure to call reservations and request the bed rail now because I definitely need it :) Thanks again!

All you need to do is dial housekeeping on your room phone and they will bring you all the hangers you need.

I requested the 101 Dalmations building, and I was just looking at my confirmation/reservation online and it does not state this anywhere (I also requested top floor). I was just wondering if it should be on my confirmation, and if not, when and where do you normally call back before your trip to make sure your request is there? I remember reading a long time ago that people used to fax their requests, but that people are calling now??? Thanks for your help!

Just call 407-WDISNEY and make sure the request is there. Remember though, they don't guarantee anything as far as requests. We stayed in Toy Story in 2004, and the whole resort was so cute!

The parks are the ones that has the extra magic hours, and any hotle onsite, including values, are allowed to use them. Not sure what the other part of your question means though.

How are the rooms? I know the other 2 resorts just got renovations; does this resrot need one too?

We were last there in 2006 and having seen pictures of the
Music/Sports renovations, I think Movies does need to be redone.
That will be a factor in my decision about staying there next year or not,
so I hope they do!!
