Just received this "magazine" for the first time since the old Disney magazine was discontinued. What a disappointing waste of paper. They definitely discontinued the wrong mag.

My 12-year old thought it was too juvenile and my 9-year-old thought it was boring. I looked it over and saw some cute games but zero information or enrichment. It was Radio Disney on paper.

Yes, I agree. My 10 old thought it boring and my 8 year old only liked the pictures. The articles are terrible.

I'm glad I got it for free so to speak.

This rag is geared toward the "tween" set. It's useless for adults. How they decided this was the better magazine to keep is beyond me. As far as I know, I'm the one footing the bill for the Disney merchandise and trips, not the tweens. ;)

I took the cancellation option as this magazine had no interest to me and DD is only 3. They refunded my credit card pretty fast, too so no complaints there. Just wonder how many others have cancelled their subscription to a magazine that they were "forced" to take? :confused3

I'm missing my Disney Magazine already! :sad1:

I never got around to replying and started getting that magazine.
I did not even bother opening it. I took it into work and gave it to someone who has kids.

this is a totally useless magazine and i am glad that i only had one issue remaining that was converted. What in the world was Disney thinking? They really need to fire their marketing group and hire some of us -

I couldn't agree with you more! I'd love to have the opportunity to go into that company and spice things up a little. Don't they have any idea what people want anymore???

Can I call them and have them refund my Disney Magazine payment instead of taking Disney Adventure? Mind you, my kids don't hate the magazine, but as I posted above, this is a MAJOR rip-off! I paid for 4 years of a magazine that costs $20 a year...and got one year of that plus half a year of a magazine that costs $8 per year. NOT a fair trade!

I'm calling tomorrow...and I'm going to tell them I either want them to extend Disney Adventure, at no cost to me, until the original '08 subscription date, or I want them to refund 2 1/2 years of the Disney Magazine price. I'll take my $50 back gladly...and use part of it for the Nickelodeon magazine subscription I'm getting them for Christmas!

Radio Disney on paper is the best explanation for it. Just full of juvenile info and advertisement. I used to like the VMK codes in it but none of those anymore either. I really miss my Disney mag so much.

True! very True. Why that is so hard for the decision makers at Disney to figure out is beyond me?

I miss the Disney Magazine a lot, but my kids *love* the Disney Adventure mag. They fight over who gets to read it first. We already had a subscription to Disney Adventure, so I just took my Disney Magazine subscription and added to the Adventure one.

Like I said, I miss the Disney magazine, but I don't think Disney Adventure is a rag. :)

i used to get disney adventure when i was younger, about 10 years ago. and it was great!! ive flipped through it now at a local stop n shop and its TERRIBLE. Atleast i have the memories of what it USED to be like.

I opted for Family Fun, I figured I'd at least get a little good out of it. I did see Disney Adventures a few times, and it is awful.

At least with Family Fun there are usually a few interesting recipes in each issue. If you call ad the won't refund, maybe they can switch you to Family Fun and you can get a little enjoyment out of it. Neither of the options are as appealing as the Disney Magazine.

I just started receiving a second subscription to Family Fun Magazine....does anyone know the telephone number so that I can either cancel one or combine the two subscriptions....I cant find a phone number in it!!

Thanks.

Can anyone explain to me, why exactly have they discontinued The Disney magazine? Nothing I recieved ever gave a reason. Thanks!

PS. do you think it would do any good to write the publishers to get it back?

I heard it was because of very lackluster newstand sales, and that there simply weren't enough undiscounted subscribers. I also think a lot of it was because of the demise of the Magic Kingdom Club. Originally the publication was for MKC members only.

I just decided to take the refund. I wasn't interested in Family Fun and I only get my kids the Disney Adventure mag when there's a special article out. My daughter was at the doctor's office the other day and there was a copy of the new DA mag, she flipped through it and pronounced it boring (she's 7)

That's what I was wondering! I haven't seen a Disney Adventure in many many years, but as a kid I loved it so much! Is it really that much worse? I guess the description of like "Radio Disney" doesn't help me here in Canada. Sadly, I thought Radio Disney sounded like a good idea thing. I guess I have some research to do!
