Disney's 1st African-American Princess!!

I like having all the different types of people represented in a possitive light and it gives all girls the chance to see themselves in the major roles in the movies.

I too am glad they are now adding another role model for little girls. And since you have said it is the first African-American than it will be even more special.:cool1:

The daughter of the Chief was viewed a an important individual in the society and had a lot of similarities to nobility. Yes you are correct that Natives did not have "princesses" but the role was similar and a lot of responsibilities would have been the same....good role model, good behaviour, watched and cared for very closely....
