So, my DH and I are going to Disney in August. We are both young (20 and 21) and he has never been to WDW before and I want to make sure he gets the best experience possible! I just paid off the full amount due but i was wondering if we decided that we wanted to add on the WP&M option if we could?? and if anyone thought it would be worth it for our age??

You can add it when you get there. The concierge should be able to help you easily.

As to whether or not it's worth it is a very personal decision and will depend on how long you're staying, which resort you're staying at, and many more factors. My personal opinion is that the pools at the resorts are more than adequate for a daily dose of water since I'd rather spend my time in the parks. I mean, I love water, but I can go to a water park near my home.

One thing I do think is worth the money is the park hopper option. It gives you so much flexibility that you wouldn't have otherwise.

We did chose to have the park hopper option with our tickets up front! Do you have any idea how much DisneyQuest is if you just walk up to the door??

Sorry that I didn't pay closer attention to the subject line of your post. We did not do DisneyQuest, so I know nothing about it; however, it basically looks like an arcade type thing. It could be good for a down day, but then again, the pool and/or shopping sound more appealing to me.

My DH is a "gamer" i guess you could call it. im sure i would rather be doing the same but im not so sure that will be an option because we are going for his birthday! He'll probably walk in looking something like this . haha any way thanks for the help!

its been awhile since i have been to DQ.
But if you really like video games it can be a fun experience.
Not a whole day affair but 4hrs can easily be wasted if you try everything.
Virtual Jungle Cruise was my favorite ride by far.. but we also did competitions with it =).

This building has wonderful air conditioning to cool the multiple Silicon graphics super computers, great for hot afternoons.

Disneyquest is good but not sure if it's worth paying the extra, your OH would be able to get a gaming fix at Innoventions in Epcot, I know my OH loved it in Innoventions we managed to loose 2hours looking and playing different things in there.

Typhoon Lagoon is our favorite water park in world (besides the sentimental attachment to River Country). It is much better when it is less crowded. Afternoons are good because many people will start leaving around 1 or 2. The music, scenery, wave pool, nice cold beer, dipping doughnuts, etc. Great time.

DisneyQuest is also a good time (about 4 hours like the pp recommended). It really has something for everyone. We are late 30's early 40's people. We like being able to play all the games we grew up with like DigDug, Q-Bert, Tron, Dragon's Lair, etc. The kids like all the new stuff. There is also plenty to do together like the Pirates of the Caribbean. I would recommend doing the add on. It always a nice break from the parks. We use it for what we call "down days."

Im glad that you all had a good time and are older. that was my biggest fear (that we were too old) so thank you so much! and we are childless so im sure down time at a water park would probably be good for us! thanks for the helpful advice! I think i will get the add on!

Ikes! im sorry to hear that happened! My sister has a friend who works at disney and might have a little insite about if the games are fixed. Maybe it was about that time to be refurbished (every park gets this like once a year right??) shouldnt it be the same with DQ??

It's air conditioned and they sell those super yummy cupcakes everyone raves about (butterfinger). So if I just want to take a load off and sit in the big comfy chairs while my hubby and daughter play, it works out great. But I do like to do the virtual space mountain. You build your own roller coaster and then you get into a simulator and ride your creation, so cool.
The waterparks are fun also. We usually plan on going on our rest days. But we also will wear our suits under our clothes and then just go straight from a park to a waterpark. So right after lunch when it's super hot, we head for the pools.

Well I'm glad you have had a good experience there! I did add it on to our tickets! I think it was wise because even if we don't make it to DQ (which i hope we will) we WILL be going to the water park because of the heat! But ANNYWAY! Thank you for the advice! IM SO EXCITED!!!!

If you are only planning to have one water park or Disney Quest day you are much better off purchasing separate tickets.

If you add the Water Parks Fun and More option to your MYW ticket it will cost $58.58 (including tax) per person, adult or child. It will add one WPF&M entry per day on the base or hopper ticket (but two entries on a one day ticket).

If you purchase one day water park tickets they cost $52.19 adult and $43.67 child. (Disney Quest are $45.80/$39.41) If you are an Annual Passholder or DVC Member you can purchase one day water park tickets at an approximate 10% discount.

This upgrade may be done at any Park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. If it is on your room key it can also be done at the Resort Lobby Concierge.

(Note each person must have their own ticket. Even though it adds multiple entries to your ticket, you can only use one ticket for one person.)

Also, if you are planning to do three or more water park visits within a year there is a definite price advantage to purchase Water Park Annual Passes.

We have two unusual policies at the water parks concerning ticketing. Both involve use of a one day water park ticket.

One is we will allow full value of the used WP ticket to upgrade to a WP AP as long as it is within 14 days of use.

The other, which is the only time combining tickets is allowed, is we will merge a used WP one day ticket with a MYW ticket to add the WPF&M option and only charge the difference in price.
