Ok, this might be a really stupid question, but do you have to pay for the video games at DisneyQuest?

I would imagine you do, but have not found the answer anywhere.:confused3

Thanks

Steph

We didn't pay for them when we were there. The kids just went up to a game and started playing it.

No, it's all included in admission. However, there are some confusing instructions on some of the machines in there that suggest you have to pay...it says something about swiping your card.... but actually it's not true, you don't have to swipe anything. Hope it's not an indication that they're keeping their options open for converting to a pay system!

You do have to pay if you want to buy toys you created in the Create Zone. I think there's also a thing where you make a karaoke CD and can buy a copy if you want?? Somebody will know.

How much does it cost to get into DQ? I know the plus part of the tickets will get you in, but what if don't purchase that option?

A friend of mine just came back from WDW and said DQ was amazing! I really hope it doesn't close! Might be a good rainy day activity!

The prices listed here on the disboard are $38.34 at the gate adult and child. To purchase ahead of time $29.50 adult and $26 child. We usually purchased tickets ahead of time the ticket brokers like ticketmania and undercover.tourist etc tend to put these on sale fairly often.

There are the toys and cds that you can purchase after making them if you like. You can just make them for fun and not buy. The cds aren't actually karokee, you put the song together by picking the type of music, the lyrics, the type of voice etc. You can then listen to your creation if you want to buy a copy you can print out the song. You don't get to sing on the cd.

The only other place that you have to pay is one area where you can win tickets from the games and then trade them in for prizes. This is a very small area and we just avoid it with our kids.

I got such a kick out of a kid from my son's class who went to Disney when he was 6. When I asked him what his favourite thing was at WDW, he said it was Disney Quest. He was so excited to tell me about all these arcades and they're all "free'' :rotfl: I guess the $30 dad paid at the front door didn't count. So cute.

My son and husband love Disney Quest and go everytime, this last time dd and I skipped it and went to BBB while they were they. The place just gives me a big headache.

That rumour about Disney Quest closing has been around for a couple of years but I've never seen anything officially announced.

Biggest Tip - DON'T DO IT ON A RAINY DAY!! Guess where everyone else goes?? It is a fairly small "attraction" and it gets so busy that you can't get on any games! Our second time we went, it was less busy and we enjoyed it a bit more but to be honest, it's something that can be done in about 3 hours - not sure it's worth $40! Great as a plus option (that's why we did it).

Even when it was dead, the lineup for the Pirates Simulator Ride was about 30 min and so was the roller coaster making attraction. I took part in the Art Class to draw Minnie Mouse and the teacher had to keep getting after teenagers who were drawing inappropriate sketches....

You know, the parks and the waterparks feel like DIsney. DQ does not IMHO.

I think I saw on another thread that your DS is 11? Perfect age! I also suggest NOT going on a rainy day, and going for the opening time (around 11:30 I think). We went straight to POC ride and did it first, and the Jungle Cruise. Get all of the simulator and virtual reality ones done first and foremost, and then hit the arcades. And then if you want to do some of the attractions again, you might have to wait longer but at least you can decide if it's worth the wait because you will have already done them earlier.

Thanks for the info. But we are thinking of leaving that towards the end of the trip. Maybe by then we will have had most of the parks done. Yes, DS is 11, and a video game fanatic...so this is one that will be left to maybe the last day of our trip or last afternoon.
