I'm currently planning our itinerary for Orlando (can't wait!!) and we're trying to slip in DisneyQuest. On some boards, they suggested that it can be done after a day in AK since it closes early. So my question is, would it be better to go DisneyQuest on a Thursday or Friday night? We're going to Orlando in Sept which I hear is low season but I wasn't sure if the local Orlando residents will take advantage of that.

I'd appreciate any insight on the matter.

I vote for Thursday.

Only because you run a chance of it not being AS busy (since it's a "school night") Friday, although it is open later, will be a ZOO.

You should be able to "do" DQ in abouth 4 hours I think...and that means EVERYTHING...

get there early, play around, leave for some dinner (or have dinner inside there) and keep playing.

tons of fun! enjoy!

I agree. In fact, if at all possible I would do Disney Quest in the morning when it opens. It gets REALLY crowded at night, and DQ is a bad place to deal with crowds because there is no fast pass, unlike at the parks. If you have to do an evening, do Thursday rather than Friday night.

I concur. Thursday night is much quieter. Downtown Disney is a very big date spot in Orlando, and Friday and Saturday night are just crazy. You can do everything in about 4 hours there. Also you can leave and come back in the same day, so you can take a rest from the arcade stuff and explore West Side in the meantime.

I highly recommend eating at the Food Court there (Cheesecake Factory Express). The chicken salad sandwiches and other delicacies are some of the best in the restaurants of Downtown Disney. I just wish they'd put one outside of DQ. :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH stinkerbelle, JLS and ShadowWind for the advice! I truely appreciate it. We'll go on Thursday night then! I'm hoping 5 hours will be enough for the "video game nut."

And thanks for the Cheesecake Factory tip. I had no idea it was in there since Disney's site didn't list it. But now we know! Can't wait!

I "second" both Thursday nite AND the cheesecake (I was going to mention that!).

If you've never been, DQ can be a little overwhelming and confusing. It's taken us several trips to be able to just whip in, so stuff, and not feel like we've probably missed 1/2 of the good stuff. It's easy to get turned around, and sometimes finding a restroom when you really need it can be a challange.

Have fun!

Thank you CaseyJr! I'm hoping 5 hours will be enough for my DF. He's a big video game junkie!

My boys (11 & 8) and DH are HUGE video game buffs. We were there when it opened at 11:30 and the place was empty. We were able to walk onto everything. We had a bite to eat there, and next thing we knew it was 4:30... not sure where the 5 hours went (and this from a person who wasn't feeling very well and didn't do alot of rides/games while there). My kids and DH would have spend the WHOLE day there, but we had PSs at HDDR that night and had to go. Give yourself plenty of time, there is so much to do/play!
