I had read that some of the activities are really more for 10+. How is this place for those younger? And is there enough non-pay stuff to do that we'd be entertained without spending ourselves silly? My DS and DH really like video games and interactive stuff. DD and I are OK with it, but I think she would really love the interactive stuff and just seeing the place.

Thanks for your input.

My oldest is in high school, so of course he loves it.

My youngest is now 8. We have gone to DQ each year. He loves it. It is definately a thing to do if you and your children like arcade games. My boys do, so this works great for them. At home we don't spend money on arcade games so this is a treat for them. It's part of the magic at Disney. Something they don't normally get to do.

There is enough to do without spending money. I had heard though, that since last year when we were there, they removed the area where you needed to pay to play. Even so, we never paid to play anything while we were there and had more than enough to keep us busy.

Get there when they open though (usually 11:00, 11:30 ish). It does get busy (and a little more rowdier) as the day goes on.

If your child likes to play arcade games then they will love disneyquest. The place has five floors. The bottom floor has these virual reality games. The pirate one is very fun but I would recommend that you do that first thing. The line gets very long. The other virtual reality games is rowing down a river and some aladdin themed thing. Another line that gets very long is where you create your own roller coaster and then get to ride it. Another attraction there is the buzz lightyear ride. You get into this bumper car and one person drives and the other person shoots the cannon. Then you have the regular arcade games, there is a section of the "old fashioned" games like frogger and astroids. Another section of dq is where you create things. never did it so can't tell you much about it. Everything that I mention is free with your paid admission. There is only one small section that you would have to pay to get tickets for prizes but you can easily avoid it. There is a lot more at Dq that I haven't even spoke about.

I took DS7 to DQ and he loved it. The games are so different than games they play at home. I usually don't like video games but even I enjoy DQ very much. I think it was one of my favorite things we did. It's a must do.
My favorite was the Pirates game.
