Okay, so DF and I decided Disney is definitely where we want to go for our honeymoon. We will be going February 10th-15th. I'd like to get a moderate resort - the value reorts just don't have a "honeymoon vibe" for us. We are thinking of a budget around $2,000 - we see that we can create a registry. This is all so mind boggling! Where should I start?

I think Port Orleans Riverside is very romantic! Also, have you considered renting points from a Disney Vacation Club member? You could rent points to stay at a deluxe resort for about the same price as a moderate. I'm spending a week at the Boardwalk on rented points for less than 2,000.

No, I had no idea about the DVC rentals, I may have to look into that!! We were thinking about POR. I'd love Poly, but it's so expensive!!

My now-husband and I went this spring to WDW for our honeymoon... best decision ever! Anyway, congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals. ^_^ :goodvibes

We saved our money by camping at Fort Wilderness. The lowest-priced properties are about $80/night. If you don't have a tent or are not interested in sleeping on an air mattress, head over to the camping forums on this board and learn about renting a popup. Personally, I've seen companies that will set up and take down the pop-up, and if you stay for at least 2 or 3 days, it's only an additional $70/night (so you're only spending $150 a night). Although we tent camped, we enjoyed ourselves, and it was the most peaceful vacation. The Fort is a very romantic property- very quiet, charming, and friendly! Plus, there's so much to do, such as going canoeing, fishing, archery, carriage rides, etc.

We had to do our honeymoon on a budget, and that ended up being our saving grace (camping on the pop-up property plus park hoppers plus camping materials plus some small souvenirs = less than $2000). We were able to cook over a propane stove/grill for breakfast and dinner, take our bagged lunch to the parks, and drink out of Brita water-filtered bottles. Yeah, it's not as glamorous as a moderate or deluxe resort, but it was still romantic. And we saved a TON of money.

That's my two cents. ;)

I, too, am planning my Disneymoon! We are planning to be there darn near the same time you are (Feb. 9th-15th). As of right now, we are looking at either POFQ (it feels small and intimate) or Pop Century (my DF and I are both gamers and once we saw the PacMan on the 80s building, we knew that the Pop would be one of our choices). CSR also looks nice too. The only reason we -may- not go with it is because it is so sprawled out.

We may also look into the DVC thing as well. The Contemporary would be nice to stay at as it has the awesome monorail!:yay:

Hi, and Congrat's,

My DD and now her DH - Had a Mickeymoon in March, and I helped her with some of the planning. I am a serious Disney planner, and I loved helping her.

I suggest the moderates, any of them would be nice each has something special, and romantic, POFQ and POR - has carriage rides, and really great pools. CBR has that tropical feel, and is sometimes priced a bit lower than other mod's, CSR has a really cool pool area, but this is a convention hotel and does have that feel, DD & her DH stayed there as this is the only mod that my DD has not stayed in, and she feels it has less of a Disney feel then the other mod's. Dh and I have stay at all of the mod's and I agree with the convention feel.

They did the dinning plan which was perfect for them, they enjoyed, TS for dinner and they loved character meals. Free dinning was offered, but they decided to late what they wanted to do. Originally they were going to the beach but changed their plans. Check out when free dinning is, you might want to upgrade to DDXDP, so that you can enjoy a few 2 TS meals, nice and romantic.

DD and her DH asked Gift cards for birthdays, Christmas, other holidays Easter, Halloween - Disney, Gas (if you are driving), fast food and other restaurant, for the trip, or American express or Master card GC to use. They saved them for their honeymoon. Which worked out great they got to do some extras while there.

You will have to decide if park hopper is for you, check out park hours, to help with this choice.

Have a wonderful wedding and a magical honeymoon pixiedust:
