Disneyland's Radiator Springs Addition

Okay so I've been reading up on this addition to disneyland, but I couldn't find an exact opening date. So does anyone know the exact date? (I want to plan for which year I should book my vacation there)

Nobody knows an exact date, not even Disney. It's planned to open in 2012 and summer is the likely time.

It will have three new attractions, including the E-ticket Radiator Springs Racers.

The date being thrown around is late June. My personal prediction is that they are going to do the best they can to open it for the summer season (so mid-late June) but it's such a huge project, I would not be surprised at all to see delays. If I were planning a trip, I'd shoot for late summer or Fall just to be on the safe side.

You know what makes me nervous about this is the Racers are using Test Trackesque technology and if you recall TT missed it's initial opening date by 2 years. Hopefully there won't be the same issues at DCA.

The plus side for DCA is that they have the experience of the Florida failures. The Florida ride was the first of it's kind, so bugs are to be expected. The same mistakes won't be made in California because they've already been learned.

I'm going for a week starting June 2 and am torn on if I want it open to experience it or if I want it to open after I'm gone because the crowds will probably be crazy once it's open.

Also they have done testing of the new ride system in DCA. Close to when building of Carsland began they set up a test track for Radiator Springs. While this indicates that it must be much different than TT at least they have done it.

It may be more likely that the theming doesn't work or another attraction has problems.
