Disneyland?

I went the other way around. So maybe no help. But here's my input. DL is the original deal and no matter what I think everyone that loves Disney should do it at least once.

DL in general will cost more or about the same as you'd spend for something longer at WDW. But at DLR you will accomplish much more in 3 days than you would at WDW in 5 days. DLR is also much easier on the feet. The distances walked are significantly reduced. Don't get me wrong, you still want comfortable shoes.

Rides, some you'll like better at DLR some are better at WDW.

WOC at DCA is by far the best night time show of all time at Disney. A definite must do.

Food is not a big deal at DLR and ADRs don't exist. Priority Seating 60 days out no fees for no shows. Blue Bayou for ambiance not the food. But still a must do one time if you ask me.

Thanks for your input we did do Disneyland for the first time in April and I was extremely disappointed. The customer service was not where I expected. The first store we stopped in 4 ladies who worked there were standing in a group in front of the counter talking and one was braiding another's hair. I wanted to ask a question so I stood there for a couple minutes waiting then cleared my throat when not one of them asked if they could help me, I said "Excuse me could one of you please tell me the price of this hat?" the one braiding the hair looked up but never even stopped but one lady did come help. At the end not have a magical day or anything....Both Soaring and Space Mountain were closed and at least 4 other rides closed with issues as were next in line to ride. The only thing the attendant stated was sorry ride is closed try coming back in a couple hours....still no magical day....had to stop a worker to ask directions and was made to feel like I interrupted his conversation with another worker. Stood in line to get the meal package for WOC only to find out once we get up to the register and I ask how it works they no longer have any tickets left....still no magical day.....I am glad we got to see it and my DD got to see the original park BUT I do not think I will ever go back again I will visit CA again but skip Disneyland. It's back to the World for us.....now our 8th trip....

So sorry your trip was less than the magical experience you had hoped for. As a native Southern Californian now living in Arkansas, I can attest to a huge difference in public social interaction. Sadly I think that may play into different experiences with CMs, not that it should!

You should consider writing to Disneyland about it. We had a similarly "un-magical" experience. I wrote Disneyland about it and they sent my girls large glossy princess prints that were autographed and replacement 2 day park hopper tickets to be used within 2 years.
