Love the podcast as I am a long time listener, but I rarely post on the boards-though that might change.

Originally I was a big WDW fan, as I lived in metro NYC. It was an easy 3 hour flight and my favorite park was there- EPCOT. I went a bunch as a kid, and then went again as a med school present (to myself) prior to the insanity of a residency. Then my sisters wanted to go- and being a good older brother and MD to boot- I took them for graduation presents (well partial presents).

Then the military finally wanted me to payback my time I owe. So they moved me across the country to San Diego where there is a big military hospital. I figured there went my WDW trips- 6 hours via plane, can't do that several times a year.

Ah, the solution-listened to some old podcasts- and the solution- 90 min north: Disneyland.

Originally I was only going to by a day or two to try out this new park, but after hearing the enthusiasm and enjoyment that the podcast crew has had over on the west coast, I bought an annual past this past July and haven't looked back.

Just wanted to say thanks podcast crew

Hi Will,

:welcome: to the boards! :)

I'm glad to hear that you have found a new love in Disneyland. I did so myself last summer and haven't looked back. I actually prefer it over WDW now and can't wait to get back out there.

I hope to see you post more here on the Unplugged forum!

Lucky you! I wish I could pop over there every year around all the holidays and just enjoy the halloween decorations, or Christmas stuff...or summer fireworks, or just get my little pick me up. Maybe someday I will live close enough to one of the parks to do that!

Ha- my pop over is still a 90 min drive up the 5. but yeah- i think i will enjoy it. I'm even planning a trip back on monday-though I haven't decided if I will go to the halloween parties.

@ DSNYer: you can of course live vicariously through me:) Where in northern cali? is it that far?

Good for you! :thumbsup2

I'm an 8 hour drive from DLR so your 90 minutes sound good to me too! :) However, we like where we live up in wine country so I really don't want to move south.

We just let our APs expire after our July trip and will get new ones next summer.

Lots to look forward to

Carsland Opening next year is on the top of my families list!

We're all excited about CarsLand too! And thank you Met19 for enjoying our enthusiasm for this park!

There are so many new things happening at the parks that I think it far outweighs the complaint level. You can find you and fun no matter what - if you don't try too hard to look for it! Just open your eyes and be prepared to take it all in!
