Disneyland

a couple of ?? this is our first trip to Disneyland how many days do you take for each park??

Always how are crowds during June
We've always done 2 1/2 days in the off-season and 3 1/2 - 4 in the summer. I make everyone get up early and hit the parks before they open. Usually after lunch, we do shows and fastpass stuff and then take a break when the parks get really crowded. Once you've seen the parades and fireworks, you can use that time on subsequent evenings to hit some of the more popular rides, too.

Generally, it takes at least two days to do Disneyland and 1 to 1 1/2 to do CA Adventure, depending on how much you want to do. CA doesn't have as many rides, and can be done fairly easily in a day, but that doesn't account for spending time in the Animation Studio, multiple times on favorite rides, and seeing Aladdin.

If you have smaller children, or can't get up early, I'd say give yourself five days.

It might be a little crowded in June, since schools are getting out for summer. If you have younger children it will take longer, because the fantasyland rides usually have long lines. So I would say you would want to go to disneyland for about two and a half days. If you have older children, then you might only need a day to a day and a half. At California Adventure I would say about a day to a day and a half depending on the crowds.

The smallest amount of days we've done is 2 days. And honestly that is really rushing it. I wouldn't attempt that during a busy time at DL. We typically do 3-4 days to see everything. For our trip in June next month were doing 3 in the parks.

Many people have a 2-to-1 rule about the parks: Allow twice as much time at DL as you'd spend at CA.

As far as total number of days, I think it depends on who is going (what ages and interests), how in-depth you want to see everything, and what kind of pace you'll take.

We were going on our first trip last fall, so everything was going to be new to us! Also, we were travelling with two small children, so not going to have a blistering pace. DH, DS6 and I figured out our must-do items for the trip, several that we'd like to see, and the rest was the icing on the cake.

We had a little over 7 days in the parks. I did not really schedule or plan days/times (other than things that were only offered on the weekend or a certain night, of course), and looking back I wish I had. We did a lot of unnecessary wandering around, just checking things out and getting the lay of the land. The first several days especially were less productive than the latter part of our trip.

And you'd think in 7 days we'd see it all, but we didn't. I don't think you can see it all in one trip! But we did almost all of our must-dos (some things were closed for the season or for refurb or we didn't realize they were only on the weekend.) We repeated our favorite rides often! And had such a fabulous time that we can't wait to go back. There's still plenty more for us to see for the first time on our next trip. :thumbsup2

Last trip we had a 14 day pass (it was only $20 more than a 5 day pass) We didn't go in every day but it was great not to feel rushed on the days we were in there. I would suggest for a first timer that 3 days is the absolute minimum (2 days DL 1 day CA) although I think you would have to miss some of the shows. Better to take 4 days and not be rushed.
