Cast - DH, DS (15) and me (Splash5)

Transportation - Unless airfare plummets, we will be driving (17 hours).

Hotel - Fairfield Inn (across the street from Disneyland)

Trip dates - March 27-April 4.

This trip came about rather suddenly. Let me explain. We had already planned a trip to San Diego for Comic Con in July. Then we were going to hit Disneyland for 4 days at the same time. I had resigned myself to waiting for July (while still pining to go back to the parks[our last trip was in July of last year] - I know that it hasn't been that long, but I've got the fever you know?) My DS Zac started saying I want to go back to the park - (he has been there about 10 times in his life, so far). My DH, Chris finally says, "Well, we could go for spring break" and the plan was hatched.

Armed with my knowledge of all things Disney, and a tax return in hand, I began to research until my eyes crossed. I seem to go back to sights over and over to check and see if prices have gone down on hotels, or airfare, etc.

We live in Southern Washington and have driven a few times to Disneyland. Usually we fly down, but airfare being what it is these days + the cost of a shuttle or rental car, we decided to economize and drive.

So here's the game plan........

We are going to leave around 6:00 am on Saturday, March 27th. We will try to get as far as Stockton or Santa Nella (11 or 12 hours) the first day. Then a quick (5 or 6 hours on Sunday.)

I had toyed with staying at Hojos, but they didn't have anything available when we decided to book the trip - of course it is also California's spring break time when we are going. I booked a room at the Fairfield Inn. We've stayed there before and were very happy with the service, beds and proximity to the parks. If we can't stay onsite, this is the next best option for us..

Now I am just obsessively eyeing the weather and hotel costs...... Stay tuned for more.....

We're driving down from Salem, OR in July & plan on staying in the Stockton area on the way down as well. I've never stayed at the Fairfield Inn but have a friend that has stayed there many times & loves it!!

Looking forward to see what else you have planned!!!

I'm from Portland and I've debated driving a few times. The problem is I doubt my car would make it there, let alone back! :rotfl:

A couple of days ago, I made a PS reservation for the Blue Bayou (I love the ambience) - food isn't as good as it used to be. I am still debating going somewhere else instead. I wonder if Napa Rose is open for lunch?

I am doing a major countdown now. I work at a grade school and everybody is getting antsy for Spring Break!

I need to take the car in for an oil change (that will probably happen next week). Then I need to arrange to have mail held and paper stopped.

It is almost time to leave!

Napa Rose is open for dinner only. I like eating at Cafe Orleans, I don't need the ambience of the BB and their Monte Cristo is several dollars cheaper, but if you want the ambience that's the way to go!

I just bought a couple of gift certificates from Restaurants.com - one to Fire and Ice grill (cost $3, value $25) Same thing with House of blues. What a great deal!

How fun. I am along for the ride.

What a great idea, I have ton of restaurant.com certificates in my account for Long Beach, but never thought of looking at restaurants in Anaheim!

I got the oil changed in the car yesterday, got a pedicure today and tomorrow I will gas up for the trip (and of course pack). We are leaving on Saturday morning and all I have to do is make it through work tomorrow - short day only until 1:00 (I work at a grade school with early dismissal)

I hope I can sleep okay - soooo excited!!!!!!
