How do I plan my days to visit both parks and get the most out of them? We are traveling in March Saturday-Wednesday late afternoon.

HOP! Definitely take advantage of the fact that the two parks are so close together. Go to DL in the early morning and then hop to DCA when it opens.

Get there early! Number 1 tip. It allows you to do a lot during those morning (less crowded) hours.

Use FP.

Luckily, the the FP systems aren't connected between the parks. So if you get a FP in one park, you don't have to wait 'til the stated time to get one in the other park.:thumbsup2

They are connected now as is the two previously unconnected GRR and Roger Rabbit...

Plan to get there for park opening or just before each day, get FPs straight away even though you won't need them in the early morning, keep getting new ones as soon as you are allowed (the time when you can get a new one is printed on the FP.

Do PP, Dumbo and Nemo early as they often have long lines

Do TSMM early, get there for the rope drop on opening but wait at the rope by GRR as it is closer.

Remember Cal Scream closes at night for WoC

Do shows in the afternoon when crowds for the rides are at their busiest

Always get FPs, it was normal for me to get up to 7 or 8 sets in a day...

Fireworks are to the right of the castle, try and get a spot in the hub where the trees aren't blocking the castle and to the right of the castle..

After the fireworks go down to the rope in front of the castle and be one of the first into Fantasyland on its reopening after the fireworks... Do PP..

You've said this in a couple of posts today, but it contradicts what others have said.

Can anyone who has been there lately confirm that DL and DCA are still unconnected for FP?

Or maybe do they ever connect them just for the summer?

I would go to the disneyland page and look at the attractions and just make notes of everything you want to ride. Do the ones highest on your list first or grab fps for and then just do the others as you get to them. Thats usually how we tackle it. Since you are going more than one day you can split it up between days so on the days DL is a bit more crowded head to DCA.

The two parks FP systems are not connected to each other. I have taken advantage of this countless times over the last five years. Believe me if they were connected there would 20 threads on this forum about it. Sort of like what would happen of Matterhorn were to go under refurb for a year and be down. There would be a never ending sequence of threads onthe topic. We would know. Really, don't worry.

Also, DISer DLR29 confirmed that the Roger Rabbit ride was disconnected last week. The GRR ride has been connected for at least a year and it appears will stay connected. The WOC FP is disconnected.

In August last year I tried to get a GRR FP whilst holding a DL FP and it wouldn't let me...It could just be GRR that is connected to DL somehow...

I would suspect that perhaps you encountered an error of some kind, since many others report being able to hold FPs for both parks simultaneously.

I was there last July and obtained FPs for Indiana and then Soarin', back to back. No problem.

6 days ago, I got Indy and Soarin and WoC FPs all within a time span of 15min. Later in the day, I got Space FPs and then, soon after, RR FPs.

i agree with hydro, i do not thin the Fp machines at DL are connected to the ones at DCA..i think each park has seperate system

This quote.....provides 100% current info.....by a solid gold, park hoppin', FP collecting wizard.... & Diser All Star.

It's official....DL & DCA are definitely NOT connected at this time...& they haven't been connected for many years (if ever).....period, exclamation point. :teacher:

(& if anyone experienced a one time "connection", then it was probably a one time glitch.)

So....to the OP.

To maximize your days at DLR, Read up on all of Hydroguy's FP threads.

& Start your days at DL (EARLY!!!!)...tour & collect FPs for 1.5 - 3 hours, hop daily daily to DCA (touring & collecting FPs). Hop back to DL in the late afternoon or evening & use the FPs collected earlier. Rinse & Repeat each day.

Thanks Hound! :goodvibes I have to say that you're just as solid gold as me at park hopping, FP collecting and DIS-ing. I learn from the best! :thumbsup2

Last weekend I had space mountain and soarin fp within 10 minutes of each other.
