We have two waitlist at DL Villas for studios, I would add GCV but I'm limited to the two, mid-October for 7 nights (won't be spending all our time at the parks as we have family, friends, and other plans there too). What is the over under getting these? We will need plane tickets, but I'd hate to wait to get tickets only for them to go up in price or get tickets never get the rooms. I guess the downside of DVC is at times the availability; DLCA is a different animal from what I read.

7 nights consecutive is highly unlikely to happen at either resort, that would be lottery winning level of luck tbh. Im sorry :(

I recommend looking at availability a couple times per day. You might be able to piecemeal a stay, especially if you don't mind moving rooms. I often see a night or two or three, but never a full week.

You best shot will be for a preferred studio however 7 nights will be tough! I will say that VDH has quite a few Accessible Rooms available for point bookings, you could look at that availability too since we are well inside the 7 month window...

Since most of the resort is not declared, if they have strong sales then they could declare more inventory which would then go to the waitlists.

Might be difficult for them to move points with these ever rising DVC prices given the economic and financial market backdrop.

I would say not going to happen. We’ve never had a wait list come through at either resort.

Have you check the availability of accessible rooms? There is often a lot those available and since it is well within 7 months, people have had an opportunity to book and often member services has check them when I have called for waitlist help.

October is VERY busy at DL. Good luck, I'd definitely have a back up plan.

Also just in case you aren't familiar with Oct at DL. It's Oogie Boogie season so there are nights where the park closes early for Oogie Boogie Bash, being there 7 days you will likely encounter a couple days where you have to leave early. Oogie Boogie is also why it harder to get reservations in October.

Here are the oogie boogie dates in October
  • Oct. 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 31

That is one we reason we are going, we have been for every season but Halloween. I worked/lived in Oxnard/Ventura for year; we went a few times then and other times while visiting BiL.

We are only planning 2-3 days of parks. We have plans to do non-Disney stuff like possibly some NPs and such. I've driven out to all of them in the state but Death Valley, really, I've been through most of the state except the Eastern slope of the Sierras and Tahoe area. Possibly those days we would stay out in another hotel. It would just be nice to have the hotel nailed down the whole time either way.

Thank you all for your input, I did consider trying to piece the nights between VDH, GCV, and my wife's TA access.
