Ok first of all I have to say that Im not that great at TR's...I would rather read others than write my own...but due to popular demand I am going to write yet another TR...I hope its not too boring for any of you....

Cast...Me, Lynn 41..lover of the ºoº..Cheryl...My friend 58..hasnt been in a lonnnnng time...

Saturday Nov. 25...

left merced about 10:30 am...not much traffic...encountered a bit in LA but thats usual...what was NOT usual is that once we got to LA the traffic stopped and it was smooth sailing down the 5 all the way to anaheim...the I5N was backed up forever...me thinks everybody got the crazy notion to go home from thanksgiving on saturday instead of the usual sunday... :rotfl: that one backfired big time...but it was great for me  got to anaheim around 4ish and checked in to the Sheraton Anaheim...when I was here in March they were finishing the remodeling in the lobby and it was all blocked off...now it is absolutely gorgeous...they have 2 sitting rooms...both have very comfy sofas...they almost look like someones living rooms...one has sofas next to a roaring fireplace and the other has floor to ceiling bookshelves and HUGE fish tanks...they have a bar and their restaurant is back at the usual place...my room was in the same area it always is..C wing poolside...this room was huge...Im telling you it was much bigger than the other rooms Ive stayed in...it also had a refrigerator at no charge and I wasnt charged for parking even though they make it clear we will be...just a note....I got a parking pass for cheryls car as well and they gave it to me no problem...didnt charge for her either....we got into the room 1167 and got settled and then decided to go on over to DLH to look around before our PS at 6:30 for Goofy's Kitchen...I also had to pick up my fantasmic tickets at the front desk as I had vacation planning make the reservations...got to the hotel around 5:30 and got our tickets very fast...we looked around the pool and the shops and both of us were famished so we went into GK to check in even though we had awhile to go...but no sooner did we sit down than we were called...they put us way in the back so we couldnt even see over the wall when they did the macarena hmph...there wasnt really a whole lot of character interaction...characters were Goofy duh!, Chip & Dale, Fairy Godmother, and pluto who we didnt even see until we were leaving...didnt even get to take a pic like they usually do before they seat you...I guess they figured we were two grown women and wouldnt be interested in such things...again hmph...they dont know me ;) food was good...I had sole stuffed with shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, fried shrimp, potstickas with sweet chili sauce and chow mein noodles with baby bok choy, mac and cheese which I didnt really like, and a piece of cheese pizza...yes yes I know I took it from the kids buffet but I dont care....for dessert I had jello with a mickey head on it and mini cheesecake and a cookie piece filled with caramel...oh man was it ever good...I valet'd the car and all I had to do was have someone from the check in desk validate the ticket and parking was free... I tipped the valet $5...we left the hotel and went to the character warehouse...didnt really have too many things I was interested in...had tons of 50th stuff left but I already had most of it...picked up a few pins and a lanyard holder for my plastic pouch that had a silver mickey head and the 50th written in the middle...found my jacket that I bought for $50 in March and they had it for $26  ...after that we went across the way to a food 4 less and bought a case of waters, crackers, coffee and splenda...back to the hotel to dump off our stuff and went to walk around the lobby to check it out...had a couple of drinks in the bar...2 s** on the beach to be exact... :rolleyes1 ...back to the room and got ready for bed...went to sleep around 11...cause tomorrow is a big day ;)...those beds knocked me out hard...slept all night :rotfl2:

and of course this little critter needs no introduction..

Great so far. :thumbsup2

Don't ya just hate it when you see something you bought on your last trip on sale? That's happened to us many many times - ARGHHH!

I've never stayed at the Sheraton before, but definately would consider it if I couldn't get a room at the PPH or the DLH for a good rate.

Okay, ready for the next installment of your trip report - the parks! :woohoo:

Oops. I read Part 2 first, now catching up. So you did Goofy's Kitchen AND Minnie and Friends? AWESOME!!!

Sounds like a blast so far!

Hi Lynn!
Great start to your trip. So glad to hear the Sheraton looks great after all the construction. We, too, stayed there when it was a disaster zone last year. But they did give us free breakfast buffet "for our troubles". I also agree that the ground floor courtyard rooms are huge. And we love their dedicated shuttle, always on time, and free - unlike the ART. We stayed at the Sheraton Park last August, that is a great hotel, too. Enough about the Sheraton(s), I am off to read the rest of your report :thumbsup2

Thanks, I had wondered what that hotel was like.
