So far the board has been helpful in helping me determine the length we should stay. I've been reading about everything under the sun. What do you guys think about tours? Is it something you have done? What's the one you loved the most? DS9 has read the biography of Walt Disney and the tour that show's his apartment seemed like it would be enjoyable for him. I see some tours give you fast passes or have you go on certain rides. Is it worth it? what about the Disneyland tour? Would love to hear your thoughts?

I've only done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour and for me, it was totally worth it. Going inside Walt's apartment was a dream come true and something I never, ever thought I could do. The tour was wonderful and includes lunch. They give AAA discount for the tour.

It's been a few years, but my wife and I took two different tours: Mysteries, Myths, and Legends, and The Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. Both tours were special to me. On the Mysteries tour, it was done when the park closed. It was a Halloween themed tour. We got to ride Indy, The Haunted Mansion, and The Tower of Terror, and in between rides we walked to different areas of the Disneyland and California Adventure as a tour guide told us different stories about different locations in each park. It was neat because our tour guide waved at us on our Doom Buggies during the Ballroom Scene, and on Tower we got to ride it twice in a row after the bellhop said "Enjoy your stay, AGAIN!" after the first ride. The Walk in Walt's Footsteps was really neat. Lot's of information on Walt's visits in the park. We got to go into the elevator in Club 33 and see the lobby area, we had lunch at the Golden Horseshoe saloon, where the guide showed us "The World's Smallest Hidden Mickey", and rode a few different attractions with information on how Walt designed them. Also, each person on the tour gets a pin. I'd would love to do that one again.

We've done the Holiday Tour (only offered during that time) and the Discover the Magic Tour and loved both of them. My older kids liked both, but loved the Discover the Magic Tour as it is geared towards kids. We got to walk on Pirates, Jungle Cruise & Buzz Lightyear and you end with a private meet & greet with Mickey. My only caution would be if he's not outgoing, he may have a hard time getting into it.

I doubt the Holiday Tour applies to your trip, but for that we walked on Jungle Cruise (Jingle Cruise), HMH & IASWH.

I want to do Walk in Walt's Footsteps but I need all of my kids to be older or for somebody to watch the little ones to truly enjoy it, I think.

I think the time saved by those perks of the tour could well be worth the cost, especially during Spring Break or other busy seasons!

Do you still get a special souvenir lanyard and PIN with this tour?

Yes you do. And we got souvenir coffee mugs with hot chocolate, but that may because it was winter time (and our tour started in the rain). I don't know what the equivalent is in warmer months.

In one trip report I read they got frozen apple juices in Toontown after meeting Mickey. Maybe that's the warmer weather treat instead?

That would make sense. Although I really like my coffee mug - used it this morning!

On the Disneyland website it tells you everything about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour except the price. Can anybody tell me how much this tour costs?

I've only done the holiday tour, but it was fantastic, I loved it! It was a fantastic value if you plan on being there during that time.
