I'm driving up to Disneyland tomorrow to renew my Southern California Annual Pass. :hyper:

I'm a decent photographer. Does anyone out there want a picture of something that I could e-mail you? Want me to check anything out for you?

We are going to a conference in San Diego next April and plan to drive up to Disneyland. I would love to know how long it takes to drive (not miles so much as time).

It is about 1 hr 30 minutes from the San Diego Airport to Disney's front gates when the traffic is flowing. If there's an accident, all bets are off.
Also, like most people, I drive very quickly through Camp Pendleton - like 80 mph. If you obey the speed limits, add 20 minutes to this time.

The route is really easy. Get on Interstate 5 in San Diego and drive north til you see the "Disney Way" exit. Then follow the signs.

70 miles and 60 minutes from MY front door to Disney gates!:sunny:

Thanks! It is nice to hear that the exit for Disneyland is marked well. My DH tends to drive with the flow of traffic, so if everyone else is going fast, he will too. Otherwise, he sticks to the speed limit. We just want to get there before dark, but since we are flying 'backwards' in time (from Indiana to California), I am sure we will be able to do that.

Thanks again!

I forgot to tell you one thing -

If you have 2 or more people in your car (and most visitors do!), you can get in the carpool lanes on the left side of I-5. If you ARE in those lanes, Disney Way wil be a LEFT exit! If you're not in those lanes, it will be a right exit.

Spent the day yesterday in Anaslime.

I feel really sorry for anybody whose one chance in life to visit DL was yesterday.

Big Thunder Mountain - closed (of course)
Splash Mountain - closed
Space Mountain - closed
Haunted Mansion - closed

And the line for the Matterhorn was so long it stretched over to CA!
(Well, maybe not THAT long. Sure seemed it.)

Also - I couldn't find any scissors, but I didn't get over to the World of Disney shop in DD.

Wow, Scat Cat, you were there on a Thursday and it was THAT busy? What's going on?

I'm going in two weeks, unfortunately on the weekend Sat/Sun. It was even hard to get a room at the Grand Calif. Standard view was all they had left and I wanted Concierge. (I made the ressie over a month ago) At least I got balcony seating reservations for Fantasmic.

I guess Disney is finding a way to keep business hopping even when summer is over. More power to them, but I'm not looking forward to fighting the crowds.

Hey Califgirl! I live right next door in San Marcos!

The only reason the line for the Matterhorn was so long is that the 3 "Mountains" were all closed - Space, Splash, & Big Thunder. So , all the teens and 20-somethings who are usually spread out over 4 thrill rides were all in line for the Matterhorn!

Everything else had a 5 to 10 minute wait.

Thanks for checking on the scissors. It makes sense that the Matterhorn would be busy! 9 days to go for me until I get to wait in the long Matterhorn lines!:Pinkbounc
