Quick trip to DLR today. Thought I would provide a brief trip report. Take it for what it is worth to you.
Arrived for lunch at Rainforest Cafe. This was a birthday lunch. Food was good, service wasn't. The waitress was slow to our table (and the table next to us) and the food was slow to come out of the kitchen. Plates were not cleared when they should have been (received my entree before my salad bowl was cleared). I've always liked the atmosphere of Rainforest Cafe but I found myself a little annoyed this time. We sat on the upper floor. I think the first floor is better. I had the Pastalaya, which was good with just a little spice. Everything there is pricey though. My entree was $18 and the dinner salad was something like $5.
Took the monorail into the park. No line. Arrived at about 1:30 and got in line for Star Tours. Loved it! The line was just under an hour. Headed over Buzz and waited about 15 minutes. By the time we were done, the streets were already lined for the parade. This one seems to be very popular. We skipped it and headed over to Pirates where the line was also fairly short at about 20 minutes. Then we headed over to Haunted Mansion where the line there was only 15 minutes. We decided to hitch a ride on the train back over to Tomorrowland and Space Mountain. We were prepared for a line but walked up as the train was pulling into the station and we were able to get on that train. Hit the line for Space Mountain, which goes VERY SLOW due to all the fastpass guests but it was still just under an hour.
We decided that if we couldn't find a quick and easy spot along the parade route for the second parade, we would leave ... which we ended up doing. We walked out and got right on the first tram to the parking structure.
So, we arrived in the park at about 1:30 and left at about 6 after gettign in 5 rides plus the train and the monorail. All in the middle of summer, in the middle of the day, on a weekend and without using any fastpasses. I should also say that we didn't move very fast either.
