Disneyland Tickets from Airmiles Points

Hello Everyone! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and personal experiences.

I have a question regarding redeeming Airmiles points for Disneyland tickets.

If anyone has recently redeemed Airmiles points for Disneyland tickets during the current
"25% off Disneyland Tickets for Canadians" promotion, please advise the following:

1) Number of Points required for redemption of tickets:

Does the number of points required for tickets, as shown on the Airmiles website, already account for the 25% Canadian discount? For example, if the website states 100 points for an Adult ticket THEN Airmiles will deduct 100 points for an Adult ticket because the 25% discount has already been accounted for?

In this case, we do NOT calculate the 25% discount (for instance 100 points less 25% discount = 75 points).

Am I correct in my assumptions? Thanks for your clarification!


2) Shipping and Handling Fees / Delivery Time:

Are there any shipping AND/OR handling fees when you redeem Airmiles points? For example, will any additional points be deducted OR charges incurred when we redeem our points for the tickets?

How long before the tickets are sent out and received? Thanks!!

1. AFAIK, the number of points required on the Airmiles site already accounts for the 25% Canadian discount. The number of airmiles went down by a significant amount shortly after the discount was announced. So, if you were to buy a 3 day adult hopper from Airmiles, you would need 2400 Airmiles.

2. There were no shipping fees the last time I redeemed AM for Disneyland hoppers. The tickets were sent out within a week and I got them delivered less than a week after that, maybe less. So it was 2 weeks or less from order to tickets in hand!

Edited to add: I bought a 3 day adult hopper from AM before the Canadian discount and it was 3175AM, the same ticket now is 2400AM which is just a hair under a 25% discount so the math works out for the tickets already being discounted in which case, you will not see any further discount when you buy them.

Thank you! I wasn't originally planning to visit Disneyland yet (don't quite have enough points for all the tix) but I recently checked my "expiration" statement and will have points expiring. Since Airmiles publishes only 1 year's worth of points, it's difficult to judge what will happen if I allow my points to expire (ie. will I still have enough to redeem later?). Anyway, it's a good excuse to redeem for tix and go for a visit especially with the 25% discount which makes it easier to redeem for tix now.
