Disneyland Survey Cast Members approached us for a survey - What did we miss out on?

A few days ago, on a week day, my husband was stopped by a survey cast member as we were leaving California Adventure Park - she asked if he could take 25 min. or so of his time to fill out a survey, and he said he wasn't interested to do that. Me, being the curious one, asked her if he would have received a 'reward/prize' for committing that much of his time to the survey. She said she was not at liberty to say. I said that I was with him, it was my family, and that I was interested in completing the survey but she claimed that you have to be 'randomly selected' and if he didn't want to do that, then it was no go for me. She seemed to be smirking at me, like she had been irritated my spouse hadn't wanted to complete the survey, and she looked like the cat that ate the canary (looked like she figured it was a good prize that we lost out on.) So my question is, to those of you who filled out the customer survey....

WHAT, if anything, did you receive?

Thanks! :)

As we were walking away she called out, "Have a nice day." I retorted, "Not anymore, we won't." ;) It was just so irritating. I had filled out every single survey whenever I had been stopped, but this one time, no go for me.

One time I was approached as entering DL if I wanted to take place in a survey that would take an hour and they would pay me $100. I snapped up the chance. :goodvibes

Turns out I was the only guest selected that day. I went at the directed time over by ToT and was escorted in the back area. I watched some things on a computer and played along with a game while the CM asked me questions. After I was done I got a crisp $100 bill. But they did tell me upfront I would be being paid.

It was actually pretty cool. They were even recording me while doing stuff on the computer.

Lately we've been approached while leaving DCA about taking a survey on food. They said it would be 10 min. or so. But no reward/prize for participating. We didn't do it since we didn't eat at DCA that day.

I wouldn't get too frustrated by it.:goodvibes When you have been stopped in the past, maybe they needed females that they felt were within a certain age range or females that were with kids or alone or whatever your circumstances were on those occasions. This particular time they may have needed more men to participate. They could have needed to fill a particular demographic. It's just part of the whole survey business - in-person surveys, online surveys and otherwise. They randomly select people and they fill certain quotas/demographics faster than others.

One time my friend was approached as she stood right next to me in DCA, and the CM was asking her all kinds of questions about the hotel where we were staying and what kind of ticket she had. I was the one who treated my friend to the ticket and hotel room on that visit, so I would have been annoyed if she got a reward answering questions about tickets and a hotel room that I purchased!:rotfl2: But they randomly chose her so there was nothing I could do - I couldn't say, "Survey me instead!" I just had to roll with it. (And she didn't get a reward.)

I've read that some people have received rewards in the past - $50 gift cards, $100 gift cards, $100 in cash, $50 in cash. Sometimes they get the rewards by just sitting in the GCH lobby and being approached by the DVC folks! I have also read about some people being asked to do surveys in the parks and being told up front that there will be a $100 bonus at the end if they devote 90 minutes or 2 hours of their time or whatever - and some folks have turned it down (at least a couple of folks that I can recall)! I would never turn that down! I've never heard of any rewards being offered for surveys under one hour, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

I, personally, have never gotten any rewards for the surveys I've done at DLR, unfortunately. Some of them offer rewards and some do not. I do them because I do lots of surveys anyway, in daily life, so being able to give feedback about DLR is a dream survey for me. It would be icing on the cake if they gave me something at the end of it but I usually assume I won't get the surveys that offer rewards at DLR and I just do them anyway.

Not at DL but in Feb. at WDW we did a 25 min. survey and there was no gift so I don't think that you missed out on anything. We were asked as we were leaving DHS and it was on a little computer tucked away to the side. We were happy to give our feedback - especially if it means they update Muppets 3D ;)

I have answered survey questions when approached on 2 different occasions. I was informed that they would take 10 min. and was asked about where I was staying while visiting (offsite or onsite and why). I did not receive anything for the surveys either :confused3

I've been asked to do at least 5 or 6 surveys and i've never gotten any type of reward for it so I'm guessing you probably wouldn't have gotten anything. Usually it's been a quick survey but twice i've been taken to a room with computers to answer more detailed questions about our visit. I think Sherry is right, that they look for a certain demographic and that's who they ask at that particular time. I guess i must fit the usual demographic since i seem to be approached a lot, lol. DH was asked once but usually they ignore him and ask me.

I took several of these surveys at wdw and didn't get anything for it except the time that Daisy showed up and the CM got us to the front of the line

I was asked to do a 20-25 minute computer-based survey on dining in Disneyland. No reward then . . . hoping my reward will be improved dining at DLR in the future. ;)

$100 gift voucher... They wouldn't say that I would receive anything prior to doing it (took about 30 minutes), said they weren't allowed to say but said with a smile so I read it as a yes...

Thanks so much everyone for all your replies. I very much appreciate it! Guess we will never really know now. They said the survey would take place inside. I can't help but think there might have been a prize involved since she acted mysterious but who knows? The 100 dollars would have been sweet!! But she also made it soun
d like once he said no that they didn't want him to complete the survey.

I take various surveys in the parks, and I always give them my work address. That is the only time I ever use my work address while in DLR. On another note, my work address is where I receive all my pin code offers for future trips... Coincidence???

eh - I got a sticker for spending 15-20 mins in a room near City Hall in Disneyland. They sent me an additional on-line survey that I received a few weeks after I got home.

No prizes - other than the sticker.

I was stopped once on the way out of DLR it only took 5 mins though and I didnt receive anything I doubt you would have gotten anything she was probably just annoyed your spouse was the hundredth person to turn her down and was taking it out on you dont feel to bad

:lmao: Yes, I think you are right! :)

I was going over the bridge entering the Animal Kingdom (after passing all the animals, you know), and a cast member approached me and asked where I was staying. I told her I was staying at the Poly, and she asked me if I was visiting with only my wife and son. I replied, "yes." It was a little past 10:00 AM, and she offered me a $200.00 Disney gift card if I agreed to help her evaluate new Disney products from 12:00 - 2:00. I turned it down so I didn't lose time away from my family on vacation. But, I think it would have been very fun to do. Anyone else receive this offer?

Just an FYI that this is the Disneyland forum of the DISboards.

the rewards sound good, but traveling with teenage boys , I wouldnt give up our park time for more than maybe 10 minutes.

A few times we've gotten stickers, all of the other times we've gotten a smile and a thank you. (for the short survey, we've never been offered a longer one)

I don't know if it's because of how far away I live. I'm usually asked 3 questions and once they get my zip code, I'm told thank you that's all have a fun day.
