when is spring break at DL?

What are crowds like during this time?

Schools in California, and all over the country have different spring breaks, so I've heard spring crowds can be felt through the second half of March thru mid April. Peak spring break time is always the week before and after Easter, this year April 3-19. And it's crazy busy during that time.

Spring break is later this year than it was last year. We went for Easter & the week following & was well into the spring breaks. Extremely crowded!! I've seen a lot of spring breaks in the Cali area are in April, but of course spring breaks from other states & schools that go year round will vary. As PP stated, mid-March thru April is the brunt of the school breaks.

AZ breaks are the second and third weeks in March.

Is there something going on at DL this weekend then? I notice that a lot of hotels are either booked up Friday night or more expensive than usual.

I figured it was early Spring break, but if not maybe it won't be as busy as I'm worried it will be.

We were planning a last minute trip but if it's crowded, we'll wait until late April.

Thanks for those of you who may have some insight.

We're going to be there Saturday for the week.....we also noticed after having to get a package for my older boys to join us, that rooms on the weekends were booked. We finally found one at the Motel 6. During the week was ok, just the weekends.
From what I've been reading, with the birthday promo & monthly payments for annual passes, it's really surprised Disney at how busy they've been....so I'm guessing lots of birthday people taking advantage of the offer. I also have read that a lot of the Arizona schools are out for spring break....so maybe a combo of things.
I'm not sure late April would be any better..... not much help am I? Sorry, hope you have a great time....whenever you decide to go!!

I live in Anaheim, CA and spring break is from April 10-April 19 usually Southern California spring break are between the end of March to the mid of April. DLR is ALWAYS crowded during spring break. Most likely if you go this weekend it might be a crowd of the usual.

From March 15 or so to April 15 is Spring Break mania.

This weekend....brace yourselves....cheerleading convention. :scared1:

I thought they just had a cheerleading convention? Is there two cheerleading conventions back to back?:confused3

I think there are 2-3 cheerleading competitions.....if not 3, then definitely 2 of them. Check the Anaheim Convention Center calendar.

I know that when we go on Mar. 20th, there is a competition happening that weekend. I have been there before during competitions.......lots of little teeny-boppers running around with their hair all glitzed up and lots of lip gloss! :rotfl2:

There are no Cheer Competitions scheduled to be held at the DLR this weekend, or for the forseeable future; and according to the Anaheim Convention Centre, their next Cheer event will begin from 20 March.

As to Spring Break, the Disneyland Resort will be in Spring Break 'mode' from 8 March to 18 April 2009. Peak Crowds are expected from 5-18 April.

Please expect elevated crowds during this entire period, as well as extremely heavy crowds during the peak period of 5-18 April.

Between Spring Break, Annual Passport Monthly Payments, the Free on Your Birthday promotion, the launching of several new Attractions, and the various entertainment offerings for the What Will You Celebrate? campaign, including the debut of Celebrate! A Street Party, this might be one of the busiest Easter Seasons at the DLR ever.
