Anyone have any insight as to when the So Cal AP's will be available to purchase again? I am dying waiting for this...don't have enough cash to afford the Deluxe and it seems like a waste to purchase the So Cal Select as all weekends are blocked...Hoping by the end of the summer??

I would be shocked if they are re-introduced this year, even.
It's my opinion that they've stopped selling them to control the crowds, and since the crowd levels aren't likely to reduce, I don't see them selling these again for awhile.

I could be wrong, I don't have official knowledge...just my personal belief on the matter.

My opinion coincides with Tyggress's. I don't think they have seen any reduction in the overall number of AP holders. The So Cal passes aren't even allowed in for most of the summer anyway, so this decision to suspend sales wasn't just something to help with summer crowds. I would not expect new sales of the So Cal pass to return anytime soon.

Bummer this makes me sad :( I don't think its worth it to buy a one day ticket...and can't quite afford the Deluxe pass and with my work schedule it is hard to convince myself to buy the So Cal Select as its pretty hard for us to go during the week.

At least the Halloween party is coming up...this I will buy a ticket to.

Thanks, everyone.

Even if Disney planned to reintroduce it at a certain time, we'll never know in advance because people would wait, and not buy the other passes in the meantime.

It was done to control the Sunday crowds. Visitation is very high these days, even outside of summer.

Yes, I was trying to make the point that the suspension of sales of that category of AP didn't have anything to do with summer since they are blocked out most of summer already, including Fridays and Sundays, so there was no foundation to the OP's hope that they might return with the end of summer.

Makes sense...I guess we will just have to wait and see and hope good things!

I think I've become desensitized to the crowds on Sundays. In fact, the most recent Sundays that my AP was good seemed undercrowded by comparison.

Seeing as how it's made the regular AP more lucrative, especially with better crowds on Sunday's, I don't see Disney changing it back.

It won't reduce the numbers. Every single person I've talked to says they will just buy the Deluxe for a few bucks more per month. Sundays have always been crowded here, especially in the Spring when there is typically another So Cal deal like the 2fer or the even better deal this year. Then as late May gets here it's worse as their expiration date gets closer to use them. Then go to Disney having more off-season events such as HalloweenTime, there is no slow time in September or October anymore. Slowest time I've seen there over the last 3 years is the first week of December.
Let's face it, if Disney was truly worried about crowds, they would not have any promotions at all. By suspending sales of the So Cal pass all they have done is created demand, and a worry, thereby getting more renewals than ever before. Or more Deluxe sales.

To the OP: Get the So Cal Select, it is worth it. When you get off work, go on Friday night. They are open to midnight usually. Then when you get a vacation day, take a Friday and go then. It is such a cheap deal, barely $16 a month! And you get the first day to use any day you want, even the Saturday or Sunday you want. At $16 it's less than most other entertainment these days!
