Does anyone know where on I-5 you start to see Disney road signs. We need to blindfold both our boys before that. (They think they are going to Legoland). We arrive in about 5 hours!!

Are you coming from San Diego and going north? If so you'd probably want to make sure they don't realize you're passing all the Legoland signs as well. As far as Disney stuff, I think once you get into Anaheim, around exit 100, is probably when I would? But maybe a little sooner. I can't remember exactly. I think Disney Way signs show up around then.

I would blindfold them at Knott ave, if on the 5 south.....
Have a Blast! My Mom did that for me once, after a trip to AZ... I was shocked when we pulled into the Mecca, then a motel across from DLR!

Please report back!

Assuming you're coming from the north, Disneyland would be on the way even if you really were going to Legoland. I just wouldn't say anything. If they notice, just say yes, you have to pass DL to get to LL- lets wave to Mickey. Then maybe you could 'stop for gas'...

We are coming from the north. So around exit 100? Will be reporting back in my thread about surprising them :)

Knott Avenue is a good point. I would definitely have them blindfolded before you get to the 91 freeway.

If you blindfold them, won't they know something is up? I like the idea of "stopping for gas".

Or you could tell the driver to pull off the freeway (at the Disneyland exit) so you can look through your purse. Then say, "Oops, looks like I forgot our tickets to Legoland." And as you drive up to DL, "What do you think we could do instead?" Then let Disneyland be their idea that you say yes to.

No matter what, even if the surprise gets blown a little early, what a great surprise! Have a wonderful time.

They are expecting and excited to be blindfolded. They think its because "mommy wants to get video and pics of the first time they look at Legoland and our hotel is too close, so they'd see it before I could tape it." I'm sure they'll have fun either way.

Oh my gosh, that is SO CUTE! I would blindfold them at least a few exits away then. Even if you don't see road signs, there are probably billboards. I hope you're making a video of this. :)

I am making a video and taking pics :) we are going to be there in about 45 min!! Pulling off at a gas station in 20 min and we will blindfold them at that station!

I have a kid who gets car sick if he doesn't lookout the window. So blindfolds would never work for us.
I hope they were happily surprised.

We walked them out in front of Captain Kids so they could see the Disney sign. We let them remove the blindfolds and they yelled, "it's Legoland!!" We said, "Where?" They again said Legoland! Then my DS7's eyes adjusted and he could see Disneyland. He told his little brother. We got called "trickers" and got huge hugs! If I could figure out how to post pics via phone I'd post the pic we got of the moment they realized where they were. We had a great first few hours and now it's time to sleep for our first full day!
