Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Does anyone have any info (or guesses) on what to do with Maxpass on previously purchased tickets? I'd like to avoid a long trip to the ticket booths on arrival day.

I'm surprised they have this early reservation period for tickets, and announced no Maxpass usage, but didn't address this at all.

I don’t know, but I included that question in my email to them yesterday. I will make sure to report back on any answer I get.

On another note, for anybody who was in the same boat, I did get an email from Disney yesterday confirming I am a current ticket holder with instructions on how to book park reservations yesterday. So even though I still can’t see my tickets on the website (only on the app), I’m feeling better about it. It also sounds like Friday might be a day for current ticket holders to sort of play with the system to see how it will work? At least look at the availability calendar and confirm ticket entry.

My guess is that you won't receive anything for the Maxpass you paid for. Remember, the tickets have fine print on them that basically absolves them of liability in the event that things aren't available at the time of your trip.

I know we have to pick a park when we make reservations and since we have parkhoppers we can head to the other park at 1:00. So will they be holding space for those people? I guess what I'm thinking is - what if Disneyland is sold out of reservations for the day and you make reservations (with your hopper ticket) for DCA, will you be abe to get into Disneyland later?

Park Hopping will be allowed BASED ON CAPACITY and AVAILABILITY. I'm sure they will have a red light/green light system in place on the app where you can find out if park hopping is available at any given time, for each park.

Once you clicked the "I'm here" button was it a reasonable wait, or would you click it 15 minutes before you were actually there? Whenever I've used it at DL it's been great with one exception at Jolly Holiday that took FOREVER.

My experience at WDW was that it was usually pretty quick. Definitely was at Restaurantsauraus. I typically clicked the I am Here while I was still walking over to cut down on the wait. The one time I really waited was at Cosmic Rays in MK. Felt like over 20 minutes standing outside waiting and there were a ton of people also standing around waiting. And then once I got in, I think I waited another 7-8 minutes as there were at least 3 groups in front of me at the station I was sent to.

Agree with others--I think the longest we waited once we clicked the "I'm here" button was about 15 mins. Also agree with @mlggator22 that the areas immediately around the pick up locations got very congested around mealtimes.

Thank you so much for reporting back! When you say, they provided "instructions on how to book park reservations," did they provide instructions outside of what is already available on the website? Just wondering if I also need to email.

No, nothing new. But this was an automated message from them, not the response to my email (I’m still waiting on that). Here is what their auto email said.

Also in regards to dining, be prepared to be "highly encouraged" to mobile order. Let's hope they add disney gift cards to the Disneyland app like they did for WDW.

Sometimes at WDW I was flat out told "nope, use mobile order" even when the order window wasn't crowded. Bit frustrating at times, tbh.

I disagree. When WDW reopened and they were not allowing park hopping they refunded people the difference in their tickets. You could go to guest services and get a credit on your credit card or a gift card. I can't imagine DL won't do the same for those that bought MaxPass

I've seen reports from TOD that people have been able to add their gift card to their Disneyland app for mobile orders. It just doesn't save it so you have to reenter it each time.

That's true, but the Park Hopping add on is a HUGE price increase. But, hopefully you are right and they will offer a refund at Guest Services.

Weird. I got an email to buy tickets. But I have existing tickets. I didn’t get the email you posted. 🤔
I got one of each. The one showing I have tickets came at 10:45am yesterday and the one suggesting I buy tickets came at 12:30pm yesterday.

I didn't get any emails about buying tickets. What did it say? Just we're opening and buy your tickets on the 15th kind of thing?
I got a " come buy your tickets" email on my work email which doesn't have any tickets linked to it. It said:

Tickets On Sale April 15

Get ready for magic because Disneyland® Resort Theme Park tickets will be available for sale starting 4/15. Use the steps below to start planning your visit. Don't forget you'll need both a ticket and Theme Park reservation valid for the same Park on the same date to enter a Theme Park.

To make your Park reservation, you'll need to:
1. Visit Disneyland.com or the Disneyland® app to set up your Disney account. A Disney account is required to complete your ticket purchase.
2. Beginning April 15, purchase and link your tickets.
3. Make your Theme Park reservations, subject to availability.
4. Get ready to visit the Disneyland® Resort!

I have tickets linked to my app but not on the site. When I go to link them, it says they are linked to another account. Is this the same problem you guys are having? My hotel stays show on the site, but not the app.

Yes, it’s the same problem we’re all having. Hoping it gets fixed soon - or isn’t actually a problem when it comes time to book park reservations!
