Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Dang, I was trying to poke around cold-typing potential ticketing/info URLs. The lorem ipsum placeholder is instructive. The real gold is right here:

Timed entry, and separate park treatment (!!)

Also, on park guest priority.

Wow.
Very interesting! I’m bummed about no hopping although not surprising.

Wow.
Does Good Neighbor packages count towards on park guest priority or are we shoved to the bottom of the pile. Staying at Candy Cane in September.

We are rope drop people too. And usually never go back to the hotel room. But with us being moved over the GCH, I would imagine we might go back to our room at least once? Do you think they will limit how many times you enter or exit?
I hope not! However, WDW is opening under severely limited hours (with no EMH which admittedly sucks there compared to DLR is it just creates a crush of people) and if we see that at DLR by the time you get back from an afternoon break the park could be closed.

Personally I hope they don’t skip EMH or skimp out in park hours at DLR. I do much better with cool mornings and a break from the heat in the nighttime air.

Idk... if you can hold multiple reservations they might allow hopping. It would certainly preserve a revenue chunk. But again, park hours. If they’re severely limited what’s the point?
I agree. It would be weird that they confirmed to getaway away today that you can park hop and then change it. But it is disney lol. Maybe that option changes once you enter a park hopper ticket.

Is there a link to that? I haven’t been following this very well for DLR but I like the idea I can park hop so would like to read more 🤣

I think the post below may be the one that mentioned GAT and park hopping. Note that the source was "a guy who works closely with the GAT company" on FB, so take this with the proverbial grain of salt for now.

I’ve been watching a live video on FB with a guy who works closely with the Getaway Today company. He said that Disney has confirmed to GAT that DL will have park hopping AND that people with the 2-5 day tickets will be able to make reservations for consecutive days of their trip.

I still want to wait to hear these things directly from Disney to get too excited, but hopefully both are the case :)

You can also watch a lady from GAT on their Facebook lives and she mentions park hopping has been confirmed in pretty much every video

Right, but I would much rather get that from Disney in an official announcement. At this point, I think there is just a LOT that we all would like to get in an official announcement from Disney!

Park hours, dining reservations made available, will park hopping be allowed, will MaxPass be used, will ROTR be open, how people who are supposed to receive their tickets upon check-in to their hotel use the reservation system, how many days you can reserve at one time or how many days in a row you can reserve, etc...These are the things that I would like Disney to announce soon.

My husband’s conference at the Disneyland Hotel that was supposed to happen end of July was officially moved to Columbus Day weekend. Just figured I’d put this into the speculation thread for people who want to keep track of the DLand Hotel opening time line, which obviously differs from those of the other two on site resorts.

I found out today and was pleasantly surprised, since I had read elsewhere that conferences wouldn’t, due to the number of people in one indoor location involved, resume for a while. Who knows—it’s a conference of physicians, so maybe they figured whatever restrictions they’ll have to place on it won’t be that tough of a sell?

Just to clarify, when I talk about this having been an “official” announcement, I mean “officially announced by the organization who holds the conference,” NOT “officially announced by Disney.”

I am not an expert on WDW (actually I've never been there) but over on that side of the DIS there is something about Travel Agents having been told that the reservation system will be in place into 2021 and that third party tickets will not "guarantee access."

I am afraid I don't know how to link it though.

Editing to say: That verbiage I used is from a DISboards moderator, but it came off her FB page. Julie Guerrero is her FB if anyone wants to look it up.

Off topic but apparently not many listen since our Oregon State Parks are full of California license plates.
The optimistic side of me wants to believe that it's because California and Oregon are 2 of the 5 states that have agreed to do everything the same, making it easier for people to go in and out of those 5 states.

The pessimistic side of me immediately thinks about how rare it is that see people wearing masks right now, even though it is a county mandate where I live. I believe that people no longer care.

Missed quoting the other post I wanted to comment on. As far as why Disneyland would close the park for 72 hours if someone had COVID19, but they don't do that for measles - measles has a vaccine and treatment available. While not everyone has had the vaccine, I'd guess that most people have. I don't think that measles overwhelms hospitals the way that COVID19 does. I'm not saying that they will close the park for 72 hours, but at the same time, I won't be surprised if they do.

Any thoughts on if the petition to keep Disneyland closed will do anything? I couldn't find an article without a paywall, so I can't tell what's going with that.

Very true.

That would be great. We love hopping, but definitely not counting on it.

I’ve been using Get Away Today for years and they’re definitely not a company to encourage rumors. When I paid off my tickets this week the lady I usually work with for our vacations said their contact with Disney confirmed park hopping was a go and that guests with multi-day tickets could book one reservation for their entire stay. I asked about the leaving and re-entering piece and she said they asked but didn’t get much more information yet-but that it’s likely going to be allowed. I also asked about MaxPass (was just trying to find out all I could lol!) and she said they don’t know yet but guests with MaxPass on their tickets will be comped for it by Disney if it’s not used.

I know it’s not official but they’ve never steered me wrong yet!

I've seen that they have been emailing customers with their tickets/voucher numbers too. I'm wondering what DL will do for people that booked vacation packages directly with Disney. We did a good neighbor vacation package and I'm a little worried because we aren't supposed to get our physical tickets prior to checking in at the hotel. Will Disney have to email digital tickets to people in order for them to make park reservations? Will they email a link that takes us directly to the park reservation page? A lot of questions still need answers.

Adding to this, there's some weirdness when looking at the blockout calendar. Since this is the speculation thread (and who doesn't like a good rumor around here), Disney did something to the SoCal Select Pass and the Sig+ Pass to make it look like it will no longer be offered for sale:

Slightly moot since no one can buy/renew APs at this time, but this could foreshadow big changes to the AP program (i.e. no more 365 day entry, reservations required all the time).

Let's say you have either a Sig+ or Socal Select, and want to renew, I wonder if they would let you renew at that level? Sort of like the regular socal pass that isn't offered for sale, but is available for renewal only?
