Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Not exactly, they did not guarantee park admission, which is separate from not giving priority.

Same as Christmas time, on park guests don’t get guaranteed access. But if you wake up early and use EMH and don’t leave, you’re good. If you sleep in until 3pm, you’re probably not getting in on a single day ticket!
At WDW pre all of this when there were capacity issues they guaranteed you access to a park, it just may not have been the park of your choice.

This was the post, lol:

I posted this elsewhere, but here are the numbers for hotel capacity:

DLH: 973 rooms
GCH: 948 rooms
PPH: 481 rooms
Total official room capacity: 2402 rooms
(source: Disney hotel fact sheets)

Assuming 5 people per room (suites are included in that number) 5 x 2402 = 12,010 on-park guests.

Unofficial DL maximum capacity = 75,000 (LA Times)
Unofficial DCA maximum capacity = 33,000 (various)

So even with with packed full hotels divided by DLR's carrying capacity of 108,000 guests, you only approach 11.1% of capacity.

I did all this math about a month or so ago in this same thread (but was removed for being off topic). It’s an interesting thought experiment but doesn’t really say much of anything until Disney releases some firm guidance on how a reopening will look...

Well that’s everything, but whatever number you subscribe to, these are what hotels bring to the table!

My numbers were very close to yours.

No I meant whatever % capacity number one thinks they’ll open at. But such talk is banned here so I’ll let the minds wander about that one!

If you guys already know this, why did this discussion continue for so long in the wrong thread on the wrong board??? Hmmmm...

I really didn't think I would reattempt this in 2020, but apparently I still have some hope left in there after all.

I’m with ya, I’m waiting to hit the confirm button on our flights and already confirmed our hotel stays. I thought this year was going to be a wash but I’m feeling so happy right now!

Well I did it! You all are a bad influence, haha :P😂

Isn't it amazing how the Disney vortex just sucks you right in? Either that or we really have become the bizarro version of the Borg...

Lol someone posted funky/mildly incorrect numbers in there and I was compelled to correct them :littleangel:
Just quote them next time and answer them here. Hopefully the person quoted (and everyone else!) will follow the party over here for more fun and convivial conversation. :)

Last night our local ABC station reported the Standby Pass, the pass that’s being used in Shanghai, will be available when DL opens.

Still no official word on when DL opens; rteetz thinks it may be announced sometime today.

I don't know about you guys, but I REALLY wish that DL would hurry up and make some sort of announcement re: when they'll reopen! I mean, sheesh, enough already.

Me too. We have a trip planned for July 21-26 for my husband's 40th birthday. Patiently waiting to hear something, anything from Disneyland.

I've been impatiently waiting for any type of announcement since WDW gave their opening date. I'm just glad it's "all quiet on the western front" and we don't have the "OMG Disney is the worst company ever and is purposely withholding information/not opening soon enough" comments like they have on the WDW rumors & news thread.

If DLR stays quiet much longer I may just have to fly across the country just to get my Disney fix 🤣

Nope, I can't see Magic Bands in Disneyland, other people have posted before its due to California state laws regarding data collection.

The reason Disneyland shared it, would be because of the onsite hotels and that the new procedures at the Walt Disney World Resorts will be mirrored at the Disneyland California hotels.

Same. I think we’ve got a nice little group of positive folks over here. Plus I’ve always thought it’s better to be cautious and prioritize safety. Honestly makes me trust Disney even more- they wouldn’t open if they didn’t think they could truly implement these new policies in the safest way. I was trying to explain to my friend that’s why I feel more comfortable going back to Disney first before going to other places for this exact reason.
