Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Ah well, easy to say as someone who isn't affected by it. You can't expect people to not be interested in speculating when our entire trips revolve around this decision. Or we could just put it in it's own thread. I suggested this awhile ago- maybe a mod could combine the dangling threads discussing it on the main page and we could just put all the convo there?
I will say this, I think it would be weird to move it to another thread as it is about DL and speculating about when something regarding DL will happen. I really don't think this conversation should be contentious and would be equally as fun to speculate about as when we didn't know when DLR would open or the state would allow for themeparks to open. I feel like this is literally the same thing and I welcome the speculation.

Btw - I'm 100% fine with that being its own thread. Especially now that we (seemingly) know for sure that DL isn't going to allow out-of-state guests in the immediate future.

Here we go! Out of state speculation and trip planning hopes and dreams- let's put it here!

I agree but we're clearly in the minority.

Well, poop. I didn't even make the connection that CAPA wasn't a state organization when I read it, even though I knew that from all the discussions last year. That's what 4 hours of sleep will do to you lol

It's starting to feel like whiplash again. I wish I could just hold off on speculating, but there's something fun about guessing what the next moves by Disneyland or the state of California are going to be. Any new info seems like a sign when it probably isn't.

I for one don't have any problem discussing it in this this thread. I read the comment from @brightlined to be more about feeling frustration for travelers due to lack of information/clarity from the state and not the discussion itself.

Once Disneyland is officially open, you guys won't need this thread anyways since you'll be able to go! 😊

I created it anyways- we had a trip planning one awhile ago that the mods told me I could restart but forgot to so I just threw it up if anyone wants it.

Great news for folks! I wonder if they will just have you click to confirm you are vaccinated like you do to confirm you are a CA resident when buying tickets

For anybody playing along, the follow up tweet from In Park Magazine was that currently only SW was going to do it. Clearly that could change with actual guidance from the state now, but just thought I'd share.

Right?! Now I have to wonder if this will effect capacity or not? The floodgates have been opened!

This makes Disney's statement this afternoon more interesting. If they knew about it, then it means they still might not accept out-of-state folks anytime soon.

Just my 2 cents as an out-of-state person who has read every single post in this thread since my DLR trip for March 15, 2020 got cancelled... I would hope this Reopening Speculation thread can continue to be a place to speculate and discuss rumors for all things about reopening, including when out of staters can come, when certain attractions, parades, and restaurants might open, etc. until the parks are totally back to normal.

Those who don't want speculative talk could avoid this thread and moderators could direct speculation over here.

With Disney having just released a statement, I hope they don't back peddle. It's just a lot of work on their end. Maybe including this new guidance starting June? Giving them time to adjust? I feel so bad for the employees who have to keep adjusting their processes.

I'm going to be honest, it's interesting to me that CDPH hasn't put out a statement of their own. While I believe this was said and is true, its technically not any more official than the Disneyland statement to the blogs about. And I have to believe that Disney's earlier statement is in fact in relation to this. I don't imagine them wanting the headache of vaccinations right now. But I've been wrong before!

I hope official guidance on the state website happens soon!
