Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

This is the single-worst argument of this long political discussion.

Just because my neighbor doesn't mind it if my dogs go into her backyard doesn't mean I have to let her dogs into my backyard.
To add on to this, I have never seen so many CA license plates in my life in TX as I have this last year. We have many friends and family who’ve had guests staying with them from CA, so I know for a fact that Californians are traveling to TX. I’m sure we’re not the only destination either.

Let's stay on topic folks so we don't lose our thread...

I know when we to WDW in November pretty much all the of passengers of the leg that landed in Orlando were people going to WDW from California. Not judging, just thought it was funny.

I know there are a lot of new people here and people that haven’t posted in awhile, but this line of commentary usually results in posts getting reported and threads being shut down.

Let’s make sure this thread remains on topic and open. The moderators have been more actively monitoring this board recently and I’d hate to see another thread shut down. Please get back to discussing Disneyland and speculation on its reopening. 😁

Totally agree with you.

It's not incorrect, they literally said that. No where did I say CDPH said anything, I am simply relaying information from CAPA
You're not incorrect in what they said. But it was presented as though it was the answer we were all looking for from the state - as is evident in some of the comments that followed, like "your turn Disney".

So I think some were just clarifying this is no more official than anything that came out yesterday and nobody should get excited. We are STILL waiting for the state to comment/clarify.

And yes, eliminating the negative testing things would lead to nobody unvaccinated allowed. I don't see any theme park, who gets the bulk of their money from families, doing that. And the outcry, especially at Disney would be something they haven't seen before.

On Fresh Baked Disney's youtube channel they said Universal Hollywood does not plan to keep their reservation system in place. I know Universal Orlando doesn't have one, but that's an interesting move. I think DL will keep theirs for quite awhile.
EDITED TO ADD: This is only for their AP's for now

Will their tickets be dated? How do they stay within capacity restrictions?

Or do you mean long term?

I believe Disneyland brings in more guests than Universal Hollywood, and in all honesty it's one of those parks I can go to once every few years and be satisfied.

I don't think Disney will be getting rid of it until they are ready to get rid of capacity restricts and open at 100%.

I watched the Fresh Baked video too, I think he was just referring to their APs. They don't have to make a reservation but regular ticket holders do?
I guess those numbers must be small. I still don't see how they account for capacity limits unless they're only selling day tickets accounting for any possible APs who may come. Another thing that will be interesting to watch play out.

Does anyone know (worth a shot), if we would be allowed to find a quiet corner somewhere and remove masks to drink water and eat a snack? Or will any eating / drinking have to be in a designated spot?

As you say, not official from either the state or Disney, this being out there makes me happy! Not because I want to exclude out of state visitors but because I don't want to have to covid test my kids in order for our trip to happen.

ETA: I've seen this reported on two other Disney blogs. Now they may be getting their info from the same source or maybe it is something official from Disney.

My understanding is designated spots only

Of course. As long as you are stationary and eating or drinking you can remove your mask almost any where in the park where you can social distance. Disney isn't expecting the mask to be glued to your face the whole time.

Nah you just have to be stationary and socially distanced as long as you are eating or drinking. If you want a place to just chill with your mask off and not eating / drinking then you will need to be in a designated spot.

edit: Sounds like you need to be designated spots.

"CAPA just clarified the addendum." They didn't clarify it - they offered their interpretation of it.

It makes it a little bit confusing - people took you to mean it was a done deal, which it isn't. (Yet.)
Capa is clarifying confusion surrounding why certain parks were making certain announcements and that is evident when one looks at the source I referenced. I did not mention the state and what they are/are not allowing. @TikiTikiFan was kind enough to provide the actual screenshots of the source which supports this. I apologize to those who mistook my post.

Either way, it says a lot that capa is going out of their to make this clarification. They must have had conversations with CA gov. Already. Or they're just being reckless, but I find the latter to be odd. Releasing such a definitve statement without any information from the 'powers that be' would not be wise on their part.
