Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I think it's come into the discussion with L.A. County's numbers being so high. And even though our numbers have come down, they haven't come down enough. (I noticed that the 3 counties in CA which are in the yellow tier aren't that densely populated -- which must be a factor in their low case count.) L.A.'s high population count certainly plays into why we seem to be destined for permanent purple tier status. Sigh...

This should be factored in to the equation but at this point that ship has sailed.

California officials looking at WDW operations feels like some kind of progress. But with the recent Halloween guidelines, and the “no hurry“ comment from the governor, I’m wondering if the holidays have been the sticking point all along.

If gatherings are the issue - and especially gatherings that include people from all over the state, country, and world - I think we’re looking at January 2021 for DL opening to get past the a Christmas season.

I agree. What I wonder is: will Disneyland let it go that long without a lawsuit?

I also wonder if they sent teams to Orlando- where else did they visit? I’ve read some pretty bad reviews on mask enforcement at Universal Orlando which is what made me decide (sadly, as a huge Harry Potter fan) we were just gonna stay in the WDW bubble.

Oh man I didn't even think of that. Secret visits to USO and Sea World Orlando may not make the best cases for those parks to open on this coast :crazy2: And I think the Legoland in Orlando doesn't even require masks....Gah!

But those parks sure do make WDW and Disney look good by comparison!
It does, and I hope it makes them realize they can mandate all theme parks do the same in CA.

And interestingly enough, San Francisco is in the Orange tier. If you go there, you see everyone on the streets wearing masks. Not just in stores or businesses.

I still think we will get guidelines soon. The parks (as we know them) may not be opening soon, but the guides will be there.

The buzz words about no hurry just means (to me) that they are a priority but at a lower priority than the recent fires, EDD meltdown, etc. They are being worked on but if an attack of radioactive spiders comes along next week, they'll set the guidelines aside to work on that first.

So what you’re saying is we need to hope for radioactive spiders?! 😉 😅😂

2020 keeps getting weirder lol

Just saw an article that a worker agreement was reached for DL with unions. Another step in the right direction.

*article is from a banned site so if anyone finds it on a non-banned site please link it*

Random question that is off topic, but on topic. This weekend I went to Live oak canyon farm. They had fair-type rides, pony rides, and their train running. Does anyone know how they are able to operate, but say a typical fair, or small theme park with rides can’t? Its in San Bernardino county which is purple...

They just do it in violation? There are quite of few of those.

I’m assuming it’s allowed. It’s been open for a few weeks and it’s advertised. I didn’t know if there was some sort of technicality that allows them to operate but doesn’t allow theme parks to operate. I’m wondering if they fall under outdoor entertainment 🤔 All of these rules and guidelines confuse me honestly lol
