Are the benches/planter box around the big "water globe" new? I haven't been to DLR since last summer.....but I remember this being in an open court like setting with no planter boxes/benches..............or am I just crazy?

Well that looks new to me! We were there on the 24th and there was a big wall around the area there. so I guess that is what they were up to. Pretty cool. I love that globe

Yes, this is new and thank you for the Photo. In April this area was under construction and looked like this...

I was amazed to see all the working bits underneath this area. I have no idea what they are for but here is a closer look...
