Disneyland Photopass clarification...

Just wanted to share my recent experience with Photopass since it's a little different than some posts have stated on here recently.

I just returned from a week at DLR and had many photos taken while I was there. I had gone to WDW the week before and taken photos because I had read on here that I could get all of them on a CD that comes as a bonus with the purchase of the DLR stock photo CD for the DLR [lower] price if the last photos were at DLR.

However, before I left for DLR I came back on here and saw discussion that this was no longer the case and that if I had WDW photos on my online photopass account I would be charged the WDW CD price (almost one hundred bucks more!) when I ordered it online. I was majorly BUMMED!

Anyway...to make a long story somewhat shorter...I discovered while I was in DLR that if I purchased the CD WHILE IN THE PARK from the photopass store that I could, in fact, get all the photos on one CD for the much lower DLR price. It only meant that I was not able to go online and save multiple versions with borders, etc. This was so worth it to me since the photos themselves were what I really wanted.

And in fact, the lovely CMs in the photopass store combined all my multiple card numbers onto the one card I was using in DLR and contrary to what the online site had been showing I ended up with WDW photos on the CD from as far back as October!! I ended up with 340 photos on there! With no multiples except when the photographer had taken several shots.

So keep this in mind if you may be in this situation and ask the CMs in the photopass store if this will work for you! :goodvibes

That change was made last year some time. But it's good to know you can do it in the park.

One more clarification...this was just purchasing the straight photopass CD from the photopass store....I did NOT purchase the stock photo CD that includes a coupon for a free online CD.

Getting back photos from October is pretty sweet, borders or no. Nicely done!

I know, right? I am such a dork I was the most excited that I ended up with my WDW photos with Duffy in his Halloween AND Christmas outfits!

I love that bear. :lovestruc

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc The Duffy pictures are the only reason I wish I would've bought the Photopass CD...LOL...but I didn't get enough pictures to make it worth it. (Borders or not!)

I wonder if you could go online at your hotel to add the borders to certain pictures and then go back to the park to buy the CD with the borders?

No, because I think they are accessing a completely different storage database...some of the older photos that came up in the photopass store in the parks had already disappeared off my online account....that's why I was so excited I ended up being able to get them after all. And before I realized the changes in the ability to purchase at DLR I had gone in and put some borders on some of my WDW photos and those did not end up on the CD.

The CD was strictly the exact photos that the photographers had taken in the various parks and sent to their storage database.
